| Chewing Everything Hi Everyone, My name is Tracey, our new baby girl is named Macie, she is 11weeks. She has been chewing everything, socks, underwear (gross, I know), shoelaces, paper, and tonight my bed sheets. We have been putting everything up and she still gets into trouble. She has a bunch of dog toys, plus she steals all my kids toys too. I don't know what to do. I am worried about her swallowing all this fabric, because I can't find it anywhere. She chews up tags on everything she can find and I have seen some of them in her doo doos. Anybody have any suggestions and advice for me? Last edited by Tracey1234; 04-30-2010 at 10:17 PM. |

| The only suggestion I would have is to keep her in an x pen, playpen or kennel during the times that you or someone cannot be watching her. You could put some of her toys in there and a pee pad. Good luck! These little yorkies can be quite wild and crazy!

I know you mentioned dog toys, how about chew toys specifically? When you do catch her with something you don't want her chewing, I would take that item & hand her a chew toy as a substitute. Puppies love to chew! Congrats on your little puppy!

| I have a chewer on my hands as well, mine is 12 weeks, and her favorite thing to chew on in electrical cords, My lap top power cord was the latest target,. So the only thing you really can do is keep her in pen of some sort, an x pen or you can block off a little area of a room just for her, thats what I did, she has her food an water, toys, bed,pee pad, chewys etc.and she cant get out. she has room to play and she cant get out, and I know she is safe.. I do let her run around the living room and kitchen, and have family time. and we spend time outside everyday. but only when I can keep a constant eye on her. if i cant watch her, she is in the pen. it makes these destructive puppys days so much less stressfull. now granted she may not like being put in there at first, she will get used to it, and above all her safety is the most important..good luck

| When they are that young you either have to watch them all the time, or put them in a crate. They will chew forever, you just have to correct them when they chew something they shouldn't. Eventually, they learn. |

| My Thomas was a year old in March..and he still chews everything! This week he got into my purse and chewed two ink pens! But I think his favorite chew thing is a CD! (he really enjoys the bluegrass)! |
