I have never had fluid build up problems, my males are intact for stud as well.....a friend of mine has a Maltese she was going to use for breeding....he would hump everything and had many problems with him, I don't think it was fluid, took him to the vet.....she neutered him....problem solved so far.

I know in the human male, if the fluid is not released, it's reabsorbed into the body, and I thought the same thing would be true in dogs.

I've never had a humping problem with my intact males, they only time they exhibit that behavior is when I have a girl in Season. The rest of the time their behavior is very much like any other pet male. However, I've worked hard at training them not to exhibit the usual behavior that comes with having a stud.

I dont know a thing about fluid build up........but i bet its very possible. Even in intact male dogs.
Leaving a stud in with intact females and never letting him "do what comes natural" I think would be cruel and could lead to......

One of the reasons she got him neutered.....his behavior was what she didn't like, not to mention problems she was having with him when he would hump...

I know that when I was first learning and prior to my first breeding, I was having problems with my male humping and because of this action was causing injury to himself....therefore, having to run to the vet. But, once I learned to manage the behavior, no more problems.

I do know she worked with him for quite some time.....she had some other issues with him as well....He is such a loverboy now, I think she made the right decision.....You are right, behavioral can be managed if you know how to....

I brought Zeke home when he was 3, for almost 2 yrs there was no inclanation to hump. 3 or 4 times over the last few months he has wanted to latch on to an arm that was petting him. So me, being his next best buddy was wanting to mistakenly fix him up in a year and a half. LuvndorkieYorkies was right, this was hilarious.
