| update on dakota Hey everyone! Since we were gone for a little bit I just thought I'd let everyone know how Dakota (and her human ) is doing. We were able to rebuild after the fire and are now good as new, well better..I got new hardwood floors, hehe. Dakota was very happy to come home after the work was done...she really missed her house and yard. Thank you again to everyone for their thoughts and prayers! Dakota is doing good, better even. We changed vets and our new one is a good ole country doc. He has made a HUGE difference in her skin issues. He started her on promeris (sp?) for the demodex and we can use it as her flea and tick prevention as well. He also gave us a shampoo to use and it has really helped keep everything under control. She did start having digestive problems, he said it was hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. We used meds the first time she got it but when it kept coming back in addition to her having skin problems he said she had allergies. He swapped her food to a specialty hill's and hypoallergenic treats. What a difference that made! She actually eats her food now without having to add people food to it. He said she was allergic to chicken and probably beef so we had to cut out her people food treats and chews. She wasn't very happy, and I told him she wouldn't eat the new treats because she didn't like biscuit kind of treats. Well I had to eat my words...she LOVES them! All in all she has been doing soooo much better!! As for me..I am good..I am almost finished with nursing school, only one semester to go..can't wait!! It has had me running that's for sure, but it will be well worth it in the end. I am hoping to do an externship this summer at the children's hospital, I interviewed friday..so fingers crossed. Hope everyone else is doing good...I have so missed all my friends!! |

| It's so good to hear good news for a change ... so many things are so depressing these days. I'm really pleased for you and Dakota! |

| What wonderful news! It surely had to be great going home again - for both of you. Only one semester to go sounds much better than when you started, I'm sure. Yes! It will be well worth it in the end. You'll have lots of security. I'm glad things are going so well for you. Good luck!
