UGH, I can not stand some people!
 

So I was at my sons baseball game today, and there is a walking path that goes around the field. I had Riley with me, and walked him around once, as he is apparently not a baseball fan..lol.. Anyway, this older lady pulled up in this very new looking mustang, and got out to walk her Yorkie, a female im guessing buy the very pretty pink dress and diamond collar. I could tell by the way the lady was dressed that she was a wealthy woman. This woman gave me the most awful look, and ask me if I lived around here and how much I payed for my Yorkie. I told her that Riley was 200 dollars. and she had the nerve to say, "Oh well I can tell he not "standard" Mine fits the standard and she was 1500.00 and then she said giving me this sour look, like I was dirt under her feet." I don't know what has gotten into people these days. charging so little for these Yorkie's, when they are supposed to be expensive, because they are meant for the elite and wealthy, and some of these breeders are making it so that just anyone can have one, and ruining the reputation of the breed!!! can you believe this, I said well im sorry I better keep walking, Riley is not fixed and you have a girl there, and we wouldn't want some "DELIVERANCE" puppy's now would we?, That woman was lucky it was me she was talking to, instead of someone else. I live in the country and another woman here would have hit her..regardless of weather her hair was as blue as her Yorkie's or not!!I cant stand arrogant people that carry their soapbox around with them, and think they no it all and that they are better than everyone else..I was soooooo mad, Act like my Yorkie is not worthy just because Of the price I payed for him. or that I dont have any business having one because Im not RICH.

Charmed239, your puppy is loved way more than hers because it seems she has certain standards she has to meet to be kept happy, ie. pay so much money for a puppy, and make fun of people to feel she's worth something. It doesn't matter how much we pay for our little guys. They are up to our standard and who cares what others think. They fit our mold perfectly.

I'm sorry you ran into someone with such poor manners. You did just fine. You can always just laugh in someone's face and walk away when they treat you that way.;)

You should have told her yorkies back in the day used to be owned by peasants to kill all the rats they lived with, and she should know bc she was probably alive back then!

Some people are just that way :( At least you have your guy and you know he loves you just as much as you love him.:D

ooohhh...boy! I would have said some not nice things to her! How dare she say something like that?! What business of hers is it how much you paid anyways? So what if you paid $200 for your Riley, it's still $200, and he's still your baby, so what does she care?! The nerve...I would've popped her.

The price that you payed for Riley shouldn't matter, it doesn't determine if you're a responsible and loving owner. :) Don't let it get too you, you did an amazing job! :thumbup: :thumbup: As they say, money can't always buy you happiness.

completely just nasty!! She should really be glad she got you and not lets say me!! There would have been some complete telling her to go shove it where the sun doesn't shine!! You have a gorgeous yorkie (sounds like she was really jealous if she found it necessary to lie about everything and to wear her insecurity on her sleeve like that!) And you have more class and dignity obviously than she does on her little pinky finger! It's good you just waited for her to come up the escalator! I think I would have made a scene and it might have involved running her down and tackling her until she took her nasty comments back!! Just remember to do what makes you and your baby happy and don't worry about the people in life who have nothing better to do than to be elitist snobs who think their dogs are so much better than everyone else's! oh yeah, you are right that she's lucky she ran into you! i would've said, "listen here you old b****....." and then my mind would've gone blank as i spouted out everything that came to mind!

being blunt has it's cons, but sometimes (in cases like this) it has advantages, too!

I think Riley is a doll. And I pity that woman. Putting a price tag on anything is ridiculous. Because you pay more for something doesn't mean it's better. Sometimes that is the case, but not always...and certainly not with a pet!
IMO: Anyone who has to talk about the cost of things isn't "rich" at all. And a mustang is hardly a "rich" persons choice of vehicle. No offense.

Also, I think you are very "rich"...you have class and a big heart to me for not cold clocking that woman! LOL

TOTALLY AGREE ! Some people go out of their way to put others down - this shows a lack of class so don't let her rent space in your head -

I've seen some pay thousands for yorkies and it makes them no better than a reasonable priced one - to brag about it shows where there head is - and no one likes a 'bragger' right ? :)

a price tag is not a status symbol - just means they can afford it - Being wealthy is no excuse for rudeness or looking down on others....

imagine being this woman's age and still acting in this way! What an unhappy life she must have, obviously never learning any of life's lessons. You just have to pity her.

What a nasty piece of work she is :mad: BUTT, whenever anyone asks me a question, I don't want to answer, I say "I'll forgive you for asking, if you'll forgive me, for not answering"...That usually works lol...

I'm proud of you and you were so much more a lady than her! Just because you pay more for a Yorkie does't necessarily mean that it is more perfect than if you paid less. I love mine so much and just to be owned by one is fabulous!
