My Baby's Eye :( So, Bri was being all big and bad trying to play with her brother and he went to push her away and scratched right above her eye. It's a little swollen, but there is no discharge coming out and she isn't in pain. Should I take her to the vet? Or is there something I can do to help the swelling go down? My friend's yorkie had the same thing and vet just sent her home, but I figured I'd ask. I feel so bad for her, but she seems perfectly fine

I think I'd check with the vet to be on the safe side. Eye infections can happen very quickly and get very serious. Hopefully yours is nothing to worry about but I'd check with the vet just to be sure....

I think I would at least call the vet to describe what happend. I know that these little ones can become infected really quick. I hope that she is ok.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | oh shoot that can really hurt - AND get ulcerated - Like everyone said -I'd def check with the vet about what to do - we don't have to race there for every little thing but a phone call is always your best bet |

Called the vet. She said to just watch for symptoms since she'll let me touch it and rub it. She said put a warm cloth on it for the swelling and if by Monday it's still swollen to bring her in. I feel so bad for her

There is no reason for you to feel bad. Our babies always think they are so big and get into trouble easily. At least you talked to the vet and know what to do and watch for. It sounds like she should be just fine.

I know! I just hate to see her hurt! I just rubbed a baby washcloth on it and she let me do it. So i'm not too worried.

Yorkies eyes are very soft and can be damaged easily. You should probably check with the vet.
