Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Question about ears Rhett is 12 weeks old and his ears are still flopped. He looks cute that way, but I was wondering if leaving them that way will pose any risk to him (prone to ear infections, etc.) I meant to ask the vet when we were there this morning, but it slipped my mind. Any advice appreciated.

| If you want to try to get them to stand, here's a link to a recent thread on the subject... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...oppy-ears.html Floppy ears can be more prone to infections. They provide a warm, dark environment for bacteria to grow in. Keeping them clean and dry helps to minimize the risk. Plucking the ear hair also helps. |

| Well My munchkin has floppy ears and sometimes when he is not lazy they stand up..I was told by more than two vets that by having his ears floppy it keeps out the dirt and cleaner!! So i am sorry but I disagree with the above person..I even go to clean his ears and they are always clean and no dirt shows... |

| Callie has floppy ears and she will be three in May and has never had an ear infection. I do clean her ears weekly after her bath and when she gets groomed they pull the hair out. I love Callie's floppy ears
