| Durrers or Parquins? Can you breeders tell me which bloodline is better and more prestigous. Also does the durrer line still have active owners or its founders still in the yorkie hobby. Do they have a website. I was looking for it but couldn't find it. |

| Both are nice but I personally like the Durrer Line better. I believe both breeders are still active in the show world. http://www.durreryorkies.com/ http://yorkshiresofparquins.com |

| I like Parquins mission statement better and have prefered the Durrer line up until I just looked @ both pages now. I think the Parquins are better looking.

| Really tough choice...more a matter of personal taste than anything. I've seen Betty Ann showing her dogs and they were breathtaking. Maria's Lipstik is a Durrer pup and just stunning. |

| lines Both breeders are alive and well. You are looking at two totally different types of Yorkies. Betty Anne Durrer's of Canada is very well respected in the ring..finishes many dogs yearly, she is one of the top breeders in the stats. Her Yorks tend to lighter and have a silk coat. I have a friend with a Durrer's champion who is siring very nice pups for the ring. Clemmie has gone to Vancouver to be bred. (Clemmie has Durrer's behind her also) Parguins (Antonucci) is here in Florida. He has a very dark coated York..heavy modified IMO. I am not sure where he shows. I have been to all the Florida shows and do not see him. I have talked with both breeders and one is so full of themselves, you will have to listen to an hour of me, me, me, nothing but bull droppings...I leave it up to you to figure out which one. |

| I have run into Betty Ann Durrer at many shows and she does have beautiful dogs, I have not seen the Parquins at all in the 4 years that we have been showing. We stay in the midwest, so that is not unusual. If they are dark coated chances are their coats are not the true silk. The dark coats tend to be softer, and not as easy to keep up. Durrer is still showing but looking at the Parquin site the latest picture there is from 2000. |

| Pat, I agree with you. I have talked to one and the whole conversation was name dropping and checking on me to see if I knew what I was talking about. I have been around since the late 70's and 80's and don't need to be tested. And name dropping to prove who you are - give me a break. You prove yourself by your actions and how you stand by your yorkie and the breed. So I know what you mean. One's record is the proof. I like both dogs, but haven't seen any Parquins in real life. | I think that you would be very pleased if you were looking to buy a dog from Betty or use one of her studs in a breeding program. Her dogs are very actively being shown. |
