Major Hair Mats

I cut my pom's hair if it is tangled, maybe you can cut it too ^^

I will ask her vet about that tomorrow first. That is my preferred choice. I just cant do it myself though - because she is a wiggley puppy - and has to be handled with great care because of her ambulatory neck/spine. I would trust her vet to the task!

You could try Cowboy Magic. It works really well. You use a very small amount and just rub it into the mats with your fingers - one at a time. i used it on Tinkerbelle when she was a puppy 'cause she had a cotton coat and it was constantly matted. This worked wonders.

The vet said ellie definitely needed to be shaved. She took her down to the groomer and gave the history and current condition of her neck/spine. Groomer assures she will handle with great care. So tomorrow - ellie will have a new experience! Thanks everyone for your help on this topic.

Ellie survived grooming but not sure her groomer did! Ellie is wiggly and scared of clippers. Mostly cut mats with scissors. Groomer said she wasn't happy to not be able to finish her with a cute cut. So next cut when Ellie is stronger will be FREE. The groomer was ultra careful with her fragile neck. I hope to post before and after photos in my album and blog later. I personally think she looks fine. Btw the mats were starting to break her skin underneath. Thanks again for support and courage to do the right thing for her.

awwww......Thanks so much for updating about Ellie! It will grow Sweetie!! Your Health is top priority now. I know this was hard for Mommie.....she only wants the very Best for her tiny baby girl. Continuing Prayers for sweet little Ellie!! I await yr adorable pics!!
