| With him neutered the sex of the other dog really does not matter. They should all get along. There will be an adjustment period of a week or two, when your first one realizes this new one is here to stay. But all in all they should do just fine. I am a bit confused though buying a dog for your dog. You should be buying another for you and your family. This one should be as important as your first one and not take a second seat. They both will have their own personalities. So do not expect the new one to be like your first one. Just helping. |

YT 500 Club Member | We got Rosie when Alfie was 10 months and he was neutured at 11 months and they get on great. They do have the odd spat but I put a stop to it immidiately, usually sitting them next to but facing away from each other until they relax then let them go and usually seconds later they 're off playing again. I was always told best to get one of each if your going to get two but it does really depend on the dogs in question and how you as the owner choose to deal with issues when they emerge. Good luck with your search. |

| Whether you choose a boy or girl, it is going to be so much fun just looking for your new addition. I wish I could get another, but with a scottie/cairn terrier and 4 cats, we have hit our limit. Have fun and keep us posted! |

| great news. My male is 9mo older than my female and they get along wonderfully. This is because he understands that she is the boss!

| We got our Little Layla right before Baileys 3rd birthday. Just a warning, it wasnt easy the first few weeks. Bailey was always a sweet little angel but when she realized Layla was here to stay she DID NOT like her. She even ignored my boyfriend if he touched Layla. The good news is once Bailey realized that Layla was not her replacement but her new baby sister she adjusted and now treats Layla like her little baby. She loves her now and they play together, take naps together, and just love eachother they are best friends =)

| My only recommendation for any addition is to make sure the first dog is completely trained the way you want him to be as the new one will mimick and idolize the older dog's behaviors. |

| We got Nala when Bandit was just over 2 years old, and while it took a couple weeks for an adjustment (and boy was it a big and difficult adjustment) but it was SO WORTH IT They are good lil buddies now and even though Nala is much more active than Bandit they play together and will cuddle together and are definately good playmates It was a very good decision to get a second pup!! |
