:) I think she's talking about the person that sent you the email asking for 1400 for their sick Yorkie. |
Aww, well thankfully, I got an e-mail from a lady who actually works for Yorkies Inc. who said thank you for speaking up because she didn't want to say anything so as to sound like she was trying to "get the dog" for the organization. So yay, thanks ladies! This situation had me sweating a little from the second I got that e-mail. I'm not good with confrontation, especially being so new in the Yorkie world. Let's all hope that silly woman listens. To get on this particular list, by the way, you have to register and physically attend a meet-up. So at some point in time, she had to have attended a meet-up and met actual people. I've never met her, I looked up her profile on the meet-up website. I can't believe she has a group of friends that are probably "like" her. AACK! |

I'll bet this woman paid $2500 for the little guy and is trying to recoup some of her money. I'll also bet she won't give up to rescue bc then she won't get ANY money. But who in their right mind would pay that much for a sick dog. That's plenty enough to get a good healthy puppy! I think the local meet ups are weird sometimes. I'm signed up with a local meetup group too, and there are random people that just sign up, show up once or twice, then all of a sudden, "Hey guys, I have puppies for sale!" One guy even boasted the puppies had a 2 lb mom! I wasn't the only one who said something about the size of the mom, but then some other person complained to quit it with the mass emails bc everyone was getting them. You can't really win with these people sometimes. The most I do now is suggest they come to YT and read up. Needless to say, I do smaller playdates now, rather than group meetups. |

Boy oh boy I agree with the "weirdness" of these local meet-ups. I am astonished there are 92 members on the list. I've met at most 15. Usually there's only 10-15 that RSVP and the Meetups are always held at Indoor Doggie Playcenters in the area. I bet there are a bunch of weirdos like the one you mentioned and like this lady that try to pull weird stuff to make money. Boo. |
P.S. Speaking of the Meetup Groups....PLEASE keep all valuables in your car. Me and my sister went to a meetup and someone went into my sister's wallet and took $280  AND...this was the 2nd time it happened... I had to alert the host what had happened, and she told me that someone got $200 taken from their purse over the winter when they had a meetup. The host checked her house and found that money was taken from the Yorkie Rescue envelope too! (she volunteers and fosters for SAY :() ...anyway, they figured out who it was and told them they weren't allowed back! ...nice payoff - over $500 this person scored    |
