Any one else have a yorkie with..big ears? I thought Bailey would grow in to his ears, but he is almost a year old, so I guess not:p In person his ears don't seem overly large at all, but when I see him in photos they look quite big and bunny like, especially when I tie his hair back :bunnysmiley2: Any one else have a yorkie with bigger then average ears?:) |
lol.....That's really cute....it was only in his pictures the other day you said that he was part bunny.....are you starting to believe it yourself??!! lmao I think Bailey is very cute....Those ears are made so that he can hear EVERYTHING!! LOL |

I don't think Bailey has huge ears at all! Rocco's ears are like huge satellite dishes, i swear they've tried to stand and i've even shaved them but they're so big that they continue to flop down :D |

Mabel's Ears Mabel's ears seem xtra large to me also. My son calls her "Bat Dog!" She has really long skinny legs too. And a bald spot behind her right ear! She's a stunner tho! Who needs perfection?! Good thing I don't!!LOL!!!:eek: |

I think Jack has big ears too. One of the reasons why I don't cut the hair around his ears like I should. I leave the hair a bit longer to camouflage his ears. LOL :rolleyes: |
Bailey doesn't have big ears, he has a small body...lol...And Baileys ears look just fine...As someone else said, in this thread, Bailey is one of the most handsome boys on the site...That his ears are a tad bigger than his little itty bitty body, is very endearing...After all, he's the Bail'ster :D |
I love Bailey's ears that is one of the features that makes him so darn cute! My daughters Yorkie Gidget has big ears and when she was a puppy I use to call her baby new year!! lol:D |

My friend's husband teases me about Mr. Darcy's ears being like a bat. Their Yorkie has tiny ears - one went up and the other stayed down! I did wonder about Mr. Darcy's ears, but I have seen lots and lots of pictures of Yorkies and they have they don't have tiny little ears either. But you are right about them looking bigger when he is wet!!!! I have to say though, I think he is just the most handsome little man I know! and I tell him so ALL the time!:D |

1 Attachment(s) Uni's got huge ears too. I make sure to keep the tips trimmed so as not to add more length to her ears. I've also been growing out the bottom portion of her ear hair to add "width" to it, to make them seem smaller. I've also notice a really big bow makes the ears look smaller. But I'm so lazy topknots and bows are only for special occasions. Don't her ears look more proportional with the bow? :D |

To all you big eared Yorkies out there: The secret to making your ears look more in-proportion to your head is in the grooming... the upper half to a third of the ear only should be trimmed/clipped to the shape of the ear, If the ear tip itself is rounded, trim the hair to a point. Leave the lower half - 2/3 of the ear untouched. When looking at the ears, this tricks the eye into seeing the lower part of the ears as part of the head, and the eye sees the trimmed portion as the ear. Experiment with the amount of hair left on the ear to find the most natural look... |
