| What a sweetie Sophie is. Have you heard back from the rescue? Wouldn't it be wonderful if they choose you for her forever home once she's all healthy and ready? |

| I have heard back from the Flawdogs rescue. They are totally willing to take Sophie back, update her vaccinations and get her a complete check up with a vet! They don't utilize foster homes so I will have to give her up basically until they decide she is ready to be adopted, but they did say they would love it if I would like to adopt her permanently. So now I have to decide if I am best suited to be her mommy forever. The week and a half that I have had her she has made some progress. She seems like she is bonding better with Tobey, she has been taking treats- very bravely so- from my hand, she has eaten and drank in front of me a few times, and overall just seems more comfortable here. I will miss her terribly, but I just need to decide if I can give her a better home than anyone else. Part of me really thinks I can, but she is a little challenging in the pottying department. The only reason I can handle that is because I have all hardwood floors instead of carpet. I think I will just pray about it and think about it a lot over the next week. I will take her back to Flawdogs rescue either on Saturday or next Tuesday. At least I will know she is going to get the medical care she needs. My sister came to visit today (she lives in Mexico and was home on her spring break and drove down for the day) she gave me an envelope that stated "To Karena: from someone who cares" and inside it had 2 $100 bills! She said my parents gave it to her to give to me but wouldn't tell her who it was from. Everyone in my family plus family friends know I have had a tough past few years with my husband leaving me and losing a job, starting a new job, etc. So this was quite a blessing!! Now I just need to really give some responsible thought as to whether or not I can provide the best home for Sophie. I have all the love she could ever need, I have a great pup friend for her (Tobey), so I just need to figure out if I can responsibly afford her and care for her needs in that way. Thanks everyone for your support. No matter what I have to make sure she finds the best home possible, whether that is with me or with another family....

You are Sophie's rescue angel, no matter how it works out. Thanks to you, she will get the medical care she needs and find the perfect forever home even if that home isn't yours. | |
