Senior Yorkie Talker | Random outburst, neighbors ::sigh ::... Well we just moved into our new house about 2+ weeks ago and so far everything has been great, very quiet neighborhood and no problems whatsoever until tonight. Our neighbor has three full grown german shephards in their back yard..I'm guessing they are breeders because they had pups when we first moved in which are all gone now. Anyway, tonight me and my fiance both heard a yelping dog outside and it was loud! We could hear the poor thing over our tv sitting in the living room. So we rush outside to see whats going on and one of those german shephards was attacking that poor dog!!! The dog could not have been more than 10 lbs, definately a toy breed although I couldn't tell what it was because its already dark. Thank God the owners rushed outside as well and picked up the poor thing before anything worse could've happened, however they didn't do a thing to the german shephard to teach it that attacking the dog was wrong! This makes me a little worried because what if one of those dogs does make it into my backyard one day when my baby is out there?!?! I never let her go out alone but I know also that things can happen in an instant and it terrifies me... We'll be putting up a privacy fence between our yard and theirs in the next few weeks! Sorry for the outburst everyone I'm just thinking and worrying aloud. I just wish people would be more careful with their pets, you can't let a toy breed dog run around at night in the back yard with three huge dogs without supervision no matter how much you trust your dogs!

| I totally agree with you. I never let my babies outside alone and I have a privacy fence. You never know what can happen. Congrats on your new house.

| I don't get it either....grrrr! We just got back from Florida, when we got into town, we got the munchkins, all set up, the kennel and there lil x pen...then started unpacking the truck, we had door open, truck right next to door, like 2 feet, my husband went out to get another bag and what was sneaking in a PITBULL!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HECK!!!! My husband rushed him off, and the lady next door says "Oh was Jack visiting you?" a PITBULL visiting??? more like coming in for a snack! all in all there were 3 pits that roamed the neighborhood, no leash...no yard...no owners....WHERE IS THE RESPONSIBILITY?????? I was furious!

| Mine is fenced, too, and I have never left mine out there alone, either. I go out every time, even if she just wants to lay in the sun or sniff around. There are too many things that can happen and too many "critters" running around.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Ya we bought privacy fence just for that side of the yard until we can get it fenced all the way around with it, right now its just a chainlink fence and I don't like those dogs being able to scout my baby as she goes out, all they ever do is bark at her constantly even though they should be used to her being here by now. I just don't feel comfortable with them especially after tonight!

| Oh, I wouldn't trust them either...so glad you got the privacy fence! I was terrified every time I went outside, in Florida..and was thanking my lucky stars every min. the whole vac.that my husband walked out, into living room and caught the pit before it could come in, and hurt my lil babies... .we stayed in a rental house.(my motherinlaw owns).cause hotel we were to stay at was HORRIBLE! not sure it was anybetter than that ratty ole hotel... They have leash laws in Florida, esp with PITS, I know, cause I called every time one was out...BUT NOTHING WAS DONE! I guess someone or someones pet, has to be mauled before they do anything. JUST MADE ME SICK!

| I can't complain about my neighbors out here, they're ok, but LAST NIGHT we woke up at 2:30 to the sound of 4 or 5 coyotes all screaming together right outside the bedroom window. Pack animals usually scream when they have something cornered just to scare it into confusion. I'll have to check and see if they pulled a deer down last night. All the more reason I NEVER let Reesie outside alone. About your privacy fence, make sure there are no holes that a furkid could squeeze through! |

| Regarding Pit Bulls - TG Canada has clamped down on these dogs - not only for Yorkies but for all the horror stories regarding these dogs - a guy left his 2 pit bulls with his parents - they attacked - killed his mother and injured his dad.............

Senior Yorkie Talker | omg thats terrible! I just don't trust those dogs at all, i mean they say all animals are innocent and they are but some are predestined to be violent too, its just in their nature. Why do people want dogs that could harm them or their children? I just don't get it...
