I go through the same thing with Brandi.....she does not want to share me with my cat Zoey who I've had way before I got Brandi. Brandi will brake a leg trying to get to me if she sees Zoey is anyway near me. Sometime Zoey ignores her and jumps on me anyway, other times she'll take off running.
I do feel sometimes that I am not showing Zoey enough attention, but she is a cat and they really only want attention when they want it...not when you want to give it to them. However, they both do sleep with me at night. Zoey is usually on the pillow above my head and Brandi sleeps next to me. Let's face it, yorkies just need more attention from us then cats. My cat is not a very affectionate or cuddly kind of cat. Never has been and never will be. I will say before Brandi, Zoey never had to fight for my attention and that is what I feel bad about. Because of this, I do try to give her extra attention even when she doesn't want it

just so I don't have to feel so darn guilty.
