| Grooming question? Pixie is 7 months old and the ends of her hair knots up very easy and the tips are black. Bad color job lol I was wondering if you are supposed to get the puppy hair trimmed off, so that her adult hair grows in nicer. I have been taking her to the groomer for nail trimmings and face. I stay with her and hold her. I was just wondering if it is best to do a full puppy cut and then let the hair grow in. What did everyone else do with their babies hair?

| I just had them trim the bottom of the hair as it needed it. I never did have it cut all over, but if you think it would be easier to manage you could do that. I think it is harder to take care myself. Of course, that's just me!

| I can't really help you because we always keep Zeus in a puppy cut. He has had problems with mating and tangles when it gets long. I did buy a comb and that helped to keep him tangle free. Zeus' last grooming took the last of his black tips and he has had less problems. Maybe someone on here could give you a better suggestion. Best wishes! |

| Puddie has a cotton coat ... so I had him trimmed down to a puppy cut. He stays in that; he looks like a little bear cub. Bella has a "proper" coat, so she just gets trimmed and shaped, kinda like what they do to MY hair when I go (although I think she gets to the groomer more often than *I* do ). So, I think the answer depends more on your pup's coat than anything else. But if her ends are split, then they're going to tangle, so it's best to get her trimmed up. "How far" depends on what you want to ultimately achieve. |
