Unlove Rocco is not Yoshi

I was disappointed to have to give Mary the news that Rocco is indeed not her missing Yoshi. I share everyone thoughts and hopes that she does find her beloved Yoshi someday...somehow

Rizzo's Mom, if you read on you will see that Amanda had apologized. She was very nice, and it was just an emotional time for her as she had clearly been with Mary since when it happened. I can understand how she got emotionally involved, and she apologized for what she said.

That being said... Mary, I am so sorry that it wasnt him. Don't give up completely though. He is always in your heart, and you never know, stranger things have happened. I just hope and pray that if somebody has him, that they are being very kind to him and treating him well, if nothing else... and at the best, I hope they suddenly have a stike of conscience and that they return your baby to you.

My heart goes out to you. I cant read this thread without crying everyday.

Mary I am so sorry this was not Yoshi. What a rollercoater that must have been. On the note of your migraines I did want to tell you that I just read something that stated magnesium has shown to reduce migraines. I have gotten them since I was 6 yrs old and 31 yrs later still suffer from them. I know your pain. The only thing that has reduced the severity for me is Excedrin Migrain. But due to a sensitive stomach it gives me ulcers. Maybe you could ask your Dr. or look into it for yourself about taking magnesium. Good luck on finding your Yoshi and I hope you feel better soon.
Hugs,
Melissa

I see now that Amanda did apologize....... and to Amanda and everyone else I apologize that I was harsh with my words also. I was honestly working as quick as I could to get the answers everyone wanted to hear and felt my intentions and integrity were being misunderstood. Believe me if I could have waived a magic wand and make this turn out the way everyone wanted I would have.

This whole situation is heartbreaking and heart wrenching for Mary her family and all the yt family members that have suffered right along with her.....
Yohshi will be in all our prayers for a safe return......

Wow, just saw the thread and read all the posts. I am sorry that this was not your beloved Yoshi Mary. I cannot imagine what a rollercoaster this has been for you.

All I know, is that you and Yoshi have so many determined, passionate people on your side, that my hopes will remain high until that one day comes, when it is Yoshi in the picture!

Stay strong!

I have spent the last half an hour reading all these posts and I will admit I had a tear in my eye because it would truly have been a miraculous reunion.

I live in South Africa and I have lost a dog before but was lucky enough to find him a week or so later and it nearly killed me. My little yorkie has been lost twice this last week and luckily she too has returned home safely thanks to people's kindness and honesty. So I can only begin to imagine your pain and heartache and desperation to find him. It's always good to have hope. Friends of ours lost their maltese Cross in a house robbery and found her a year later a few miles from their house living in the bush in a small nature reserve, so I do believe you should always hold Yoshi in your heart and pray for his safe return and maybe one day your paths will cross again.

Your emotions have been running high the past few days and I also suffer with migraines and I know as soon as I am emotional they seem to hit me. I have been to a GP, Physio, Chiropractor, homeopath, neurosurgeon, tested my eyes&my teeth and had an MRI and none of them can tell me why I get them. So i feel your pain. I take what they call a "Migraine Pack" or cocktail of pain killers that make me sleep like im dead- so do yourself a favour and see if you can get something to make you sleep, turn off the lights and noise and have a rest.

The rest of us continue to pray for you and Yoshi - and a lot of respect to Rocco's mom for doing all she has done for you and for Rocco as a rescue Mom.

Possibly stolen and the people moved there.. And anything can happen in a year to make him aggressive. Especially coming from a shelter, it is very stressful and noisy..

is there any way he could of got microchiped a 2nd time. is there a way to find out how long that chip has been in?
When my vet checked a stray cat I adopted, and the shelter dogs, she said her scanner would pick up a chip from a different manufacturer, but wouldn't show the number. Also, when she was checking for a chip and found one, she continued the scan over the entire animal, to check for multiple chips.

Also, when purchasing a chip for your pet, be aware that some companies charge a yearly fee ($15-$50), and some charge a lifetime fee ($15-$100) and some offer discounts for multiple animals. Some also will let you list all your pets' chips on their site, even if from different manufacturers. All mine, of course, are different, and from the more expensive providers. I'm considering rechipping all of them from one place and making it for their lifetime.

They can't tell when the chip was implanted, only when it was registered by the owner, but that should track back to the owner, and when they registered it they ask for your vet info, and can get the date of implant from the pet's record at the vet's.

PS: I do everything they tell you not to do for a migraine: eat chocolate, if that doesn't work I ingest coffee or soda pop with caffeine.
Last week the chocolate worked wonders!

You would probably have to get a court order to get the pet/vet's name from the chip info to check the date as this would be considered someone else's dog. With a foster dog in transition, I don't know, might be worth calling the company explaining the situation.

So if it picked up a chip # and it wasn't Mary's will it be able to tell whose dog this is?

I'm very sorry it wasn't Yoshi, Mary.

As long as the chip is registered, it will point to the owner. Some Shelters and Humane Societies have started chipping all dogs (not sure about cats) when they leave their facilities, and are listed as owners until the new owner registers the dog. I am not sure what happens if the registration runs out. The number will still be on file, but whether they provide info or not I don't know. You would think for a lost dog they would.
