Thank you all for your posts. I do not take offense at anyone’s comments (at least not yet) :pThis frustrating because this is the 3rd response post I have written and when I hit submit it went into cyberspace and was not posted. I will have to talk with administrators about that……….
Anyway I need to address a few more issues here about the situation. First of all I AM the OWNER of the home and this woman came in as a tenant to rent a room. I have had to for financial reasons the last few months. Everyone that stays here is briefed on my commitment to rescue yorkie dogs, this is discussed with all their references PRIOR to anyone living here. She had glowing references about her love of dogs!
What I am saying is sometimes you don’t know what someone will do be it right or wrong before the situation presents itself. I am shocked (she is a 10yr dog owner) at her ignorance and lack of presence of mind in an emergency animal situation.
It was her daughter that does NOT live here that perpetrated this abuse, however the tenant even though she was upset at the extreme action taken by her daughter and did not see the actual abuse from where she was standing she in the end justified and blamed Rocco.
Rocco IS with my husband or me 24/7 because I work at home. If we leave he goes with us. Tenant has been keeping her dog in her room since this has happened and avoiding. However that does not solve the problem long term. I have discussed this with my ytnr director and tenant has to go and will be leaving ASAP. We take this very seriously. I do not carelessly just have anyone around my animals. If a roommate is not up for my rescue and what that entails then this is not the place for them.
Bottom line she is behind in her rent, dog situation is a deal-breaker for me she could not pay me a million dollars to live here. I have recourse according to rental contract to evict her for non-payment of rent and so be it….she is outta here! Her daughter can take her crappy attitude somewhere else.:thumbdown
P.S sorry this is soooooo long but thanks for listening!

Why don't you believe her story? This is something that if you going to accuse someone of lying you should state why.

Personally I do not see anything that isn't adding up.:confused:

I have to get this off my chest! I can't believe what happened yesterday but I saw it with my OWN eyes! I rescued my first shelter rescue for ytnr on Feb 23 and he is a male yorkie that is unaltered. So you know that males can sometimes become aggressive but yesterday was a nightmare! There is a 10yr old male s**tzu here owned by a rmmate and she is pissed because Rocco (my rescue) has been aggressive a few times with her dog. The aggression has been inconsistant but I get Rocco by the nape of the neck so he is not hurt nor is the other dog hurt in breaking up this scuffle.
I have explained to my rmmate that altering will help immensly plus you don't know what this dog faced as a stray or in the shelter. I have been working with Rocco with crating him and other things to avoid this conflict. Actually Rocco is a love, sweet, gentle and my husband & I adore him. He is fine with the other dogs in the household.
Well the s**tzu owner & her daughter have been increasingly hostile to me over Rocco's issues. I have shown her how to deal with this without kicking Rocco out of the way or grabbing him anywhere except the nape of his neck.
Yesterday a scuffle broke out in the back yard and I was at the the kitchen window....What I saw was Rmmates daughter ( 23 yrs) grab Rocco by his hair on his back which in turn the dog snapped at her in self defense because she hurt him by pulling his hair and then she threw him at least 4 ft into a metal dog crate that I had on the deck where this happened. He yelped and was limping.
I flew outside in a new york min all over her about "throwing & abusing my dog" her unacceptable behavior and what went down was a scream fest on her part about how Rocco was a piece of s**t, vicious and bit her and on and on. I told her if she yanked my hair like that I would have bit her too! All the excuses well the dog did this and this....Abuse is never ok. that is like the husband who beats his wife but says he does it because she deserved it. I told her she was not welcome on the property ever again had a discussion with my rmmate about her & her daughter and said she could hit the road if she can't deal with this because I won't allow her to touch my dog EVER!
I have talked to her repeatdly on how to work with this situation in the proper manner so the dogs are diciplined but in a healthy manner. How would they feel if I threw their dog (not that I ever would EVER) but she would have had me arrested if I hurt her dog like that.
Rocco was ok but was he Shook Up. It is my job and responsibility as his foster mom to protect him, work with his character defects and keep him safe until he gets re-homed. If this dog is vicious I am the president of the US I think their attitude toward him is encouraging his dislike of them and their dog....
God help either one of them if they EVER touch Rocco again I will be on the 11:00 news in an orange jumpsuit for aggravated assault.:(
Any thoughts I would love to hear them........

Get rid of the roomates! Report her to animal cruelty! Do not take in any other animals until the roomates are gone!

oh my that is sad! i can't believe they or she did that...i would hate to see how they treat their own dog!

how old is your rescue? i dunno for reason his face just reminds me so much of my yoshi......but i doubt that is possible since you are in CA and Yoshi went missing here in KS....well then again it's been over a year and who knows the distance he could have travel....

yoshi was unaltered but he had no agression issue....i just it's just wishful thinking.

MaxwellHouse 03-08-2010 11:27 AM

That poor little yorkie. My heart goes out to him and I am hoping you keep on trying to do what is best for him to keep him from harm and giving him a chance.

Rizzo's mom 03-08-2010 11:37 AM

So sorry but I don't tell lies.......

There is not one thing here in this thread written by me that is NOT the entire truth. I don't fabricate stories or make up lies. My husband was here in the house and heard the whole thing.

What I did not say to confuse the issue is the he went out in the backyard and had some very serious "words" with the daughter defending myself and Rocco and about her behavior.

If there is something you don't "believe" for whatever reason please state it!

My understanding is, OP is a foster mommy. She rented out a room to a lady, who she spoke to about her rescue efforts before allowing her to move in. That's often done to save money; my brother rents a room in a house in Thousand Oaks. He pays half what he paid for his own apartment and has a good size room, a nice bathroom, and a space for his car in the garage. I've done worse, I moved back in with my parents. :p I think the OP did a good job of screening her tenant, she just had a nasty surprise with the tenants daughter, who doesn't even live there to begin with.

To the OP, I'm glad you had a way to ask her to leave, and I would put a "doggie rescue clause" in your contract for the next tenant so you and your fosters a covered. In it, it should be in plain black and white that you are a foster mommy for YTNR and that some of these fosters will be special needs, either emotional or physical and that appropriate behavior, to be determined by you of course, will be required by any tenant and their visitors at all times. It's probably for the best so that later on it can't be a he said she said type of thing later, or a who did what first. Good luck!

Oh my gosh!!! I would picked her up by her hand and slung her in a cage!!! That is UN ACCEPTABLE!! I do not blame you, do NOT let her come back, ever!

Good to know that I would have bail money waiting, LOL:p

Better start saving.... it would be a hefty amount for "physical assault with the intent of bodily harm"
