| Is my yorkie full blooded?? My new baby Timmy, (seen in my avatar or in my album) is supposedly about 3 yrs old according to the shelter and the vet said that should be about right based on his icky teeth. However, i have never seen a yorkie on anything that looks like him. He is black with tan legs and his head is basically calico looking. His face next to nose does look like it may be turning a bit silverish, but i was wondering if some yorkies dont change colors, or if he still has time? Being from a shelter, theres no way to really verify his age, and most ppl say he looks younger, but like i said vet said he needs his teeth cleaned, but he looks to be about that age to the vet. Anyway, basically just curious if anyone has seen a yorkie that looks like him before or if this is the normal time to start changing colors? he's also shedding chunks of black fur, so i was wondering if that is normal also?! I almost wonder if he may be a mix of some kind, but he was used for breeding apparently so i dont see how he could be... Either way i love my Timmy Last edited by seschna; 03-04-2010 at 07:17 PM. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Some yorkies coats never change from black/tan and their heads are a mix of gold/black/tan. By 3...he has lost his puppy coat and you shouldn't be seeing tuffs of hair falling out. He should be seen by a vet to determine the cause...which could be a lot of things. Congrats on your new baby. Enjoy.

| Hi, he looks yorkie to me, he seems to have a very soft coat , that curls up, which is very tipical od the black and brown yorkies. I have seen darker faces than his face he is very very cute ! The hair falling needs to be paid attention ... Other than that ... by the pics you have a Yorkie Yorkie ! XOXO
