YorkieTalk Newbie! | To be or not to be a Yorkie Hello everyone, I recently found a stray and I took him to the vet got his shot, to be on the safe side. I am waiting to to find the owner, I have called all the vets around my area, actually just about everyone in the phone book, and animal shelters and posted flyers where I found him. I really don't think he was wanted , it looks as though he was once taken care of but when I found him his nails where long, hair dirty, the whole nine but I really want to find his owner if they want to find him. The doctor said he is a yorkie but I'm not sure from what I have seen on different web sites and this one I don't know , I posted some pics so if anyone can tell me if he is a yorkie or not, I would greatly appreciate it. The doctor said he's about 9 months old but no change in his color but he do have grey hairs, (lol I though he was old at first). |

| He is very cute but most likely a mix...he doesn't look full Yorkie to me. When you took him to the vet did they scan him for a microchip? Have you checked him over really well to make sure he isn't tattooed? |

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Ok, I can see why you would say that but I just went to the Australian terrier website and they kinda have a long nose, short legs, long bodies, long necks, and harsh outer coats and kinda long tails. Mat is small, with a small nose and body and def a small neck. I can post more picsm just to br sure. The Australian Terrier Club of America |

YorkieTalk Newbie! | He seems to be bigger than most of the dogs on here but he is 6lbs, he is def not a teacup. I just don't know but the vet did say he is a yorkie but he might be mix I guess but I like him anyway. I'm gonna take him to get groomed tomorrow, I had to cut some of the hair from his face because I couldn't see it at first. I can't seem to get him to eat much and he follows me where ever I go is this normal? Last edited by jlp; 03-01-2010 at 05:12 PM. |

| I think he's a yorkie I'm glad you found him, I hope if his owner is seriously wanting him back, will take good care of him.. not all the people out there are caring and considerate, and I wouldn't want to imagine him running across the busy streets

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Well today I set out again to look for flyer and posting but nothing yet...I will keep trying. He is such a good dog and house broken so I know he belongs(ed) to someone, I just wish I knew if they wanted him or not. |

| Your fella looks like he could be a brother to my Moka who is a Silky. So I say Yorkie or Silky, but it really doesn't matter though as he sounds like a very nice dog and happy to have found you. Here is a pic of my Moka.
