| Sob! Sniff....Sniff....Sob...... Well, he's under the knife as I type this. Being clipped, chipped, having his teeth checked, and his face washed (vet said she would do me a favor there), and we will pick him up tomorrow. It is devastatingly quiet here. What will Don and I talk about all day? How will we go to sleep? That little five pounds of attitude has carved out a BIG place in our lives, and we don't like this being without him even for a day! Don will tell you that he doesn't like dogs. And this is the first puppy he has ever had. And let me tell you that man nearly drove them nuts at the vets this morning with all the questions! He sure needed LOTS of reassurance that his little guy was getting the best. He held him the whole time. Had tears in his eyes as we left. Did I tell you Don doesn't like dogs? In the meantime, Higgins was having a ball! He loves his vet and doesn't seem to mind being there. I imagine this experience might change his mind, though. We are to call to see how he's doing after 1:30 this afternoon. The time is crawling this morning.......... |

| Heheh, Don sounds like me pre-Yoda. I'm sure he'll be alright! Wow, a whole DAY for all that? We always get our little guy back same day. Longest we've been gone from him is 8 days (when we went to Hawaii). Now that was tough once you get used to the ball of joy! |

| Called the vet at 1:30 and they said he's a little wobbly on his legs, but is doing fine. Everything went well. If all continues to go well, we will pick him up in the morning. Learned something interesting at the vet's: She said the biggest danger to little guys under anesthesia is that they don't hold their body temperature. So they try to keep surgery as short as possible and they keep them warm with hot water bottles and heating pads during surgery. It sure is quiet around our house.......even Pogo is looking lost........ |

| Isn't it weird when your baby is missing from the house??? On the rare occasions when Otis is somewhere else, there's a certain energy missing from my place. And I get all sad looking at the food and water bowl and toys lying around. And sometimes there will be a shadow or some shoe lying around that I'll think is Otis and I've forgotten he's gone....and then I have to remember, Oh, he's not here!
