| Getting Spayed Sadie is 10 mos old today and for her birthday she gets spayed and her retained teeth removed. Ugh. I feel so horrible. I didn't realize it was her birthday. I got her when she was 8 mos old. She is still not pottytrained. I love her to death. She is so sweet and loving and just follows me everywhere..I have to close the bathroom door for privacy, yet still see her little nose peeking underneath. I am so worried about today. She is my first dog. I had cats like 6 years ago and getting them spayed was nothing, but with Sadie I am so worried. She was shaking and scared when I dropped her off. I feel like I have abandoned her. I told my son today what would happen to her and you should have seen his face. He will be careful to help me take care of her. Does anyone else ever feel guilty for putting your baby through this. Her retained teeth had to go though. They were just bleeding the other day and she is chewing everything in site, even my hubbys toes. lol |

| Awww, Sadie will be just fine. She may be mad at you for the "birthday present" but she'll forgive you. lol. You'll just have to love on her extra and spoil her rotten when she's all better, and have a birthday party with lots of treats and presents. Talk about feeling guilty, Hot Rod had 14 teeth take out at his neuter! He did fine and so will Sadie. Let us know how she does.

OP...I know you are worried about your baby. She will be fine though and happy to see you later after she gets over the moment. I will soon be in your shoes with Cerise. We go for her first check up on Monday and I'll get her spayed in a few months. I'm going to take time off so I can be with her afterward for a few days.

| yes, I felt guilty taking Chloe and Dylan for spay and neuter (three days ago). I was trying my best not to show how distraught I was cause I didn't want to stress them out even more.

| I was worried, too, about Sydney, but she did well. She also had teeth pulled (but not 14!) She was loopy for a couple of days, but was back to herself in no time. As a suggestion, put your jammie top in her carrier when you drop her off. I did this and the vet said it's very common and good for the dog to smell your scent. Please let us know how she does and then celebrate her birthday when she recovers. |

| We had Odie neutered on Monday and were so worried too, but he's fine and hasn't needed a collar yet. Luckily he hadn't any retained teeth either. I'm sure your baby will be fine love. Hugs Shirl x x |

| 11 days post-op Last week was Trauma Week for us: spay and neuter for Stella and Mojo ... freak out time for DH and me ... I completely relate to the total stress. It's over a week post-op, now, and they are both completely back to their playful, goofy little selves. Good luck. Stella "zen" & Mojo |

| Sending good get well wishes to your baby. Just don't pick her up by the underarms. Make sure you hold the little butt too because you don't want to stretch her belly. Feel better baby!!!

| Sadie did so well. Better than I expected. Her little tail was wagging, she was so happy to see me. Brought her home and put her in her little bed. She has no idea what big surgery she had, she keeps playing like nothing has changed. At night, though, her pains kick in. Not sure how I know, but I do by the way she acts. I just cuddle her and remind her in the morning she can have her painkiller. Poor baby. In the morning, she is back to being cheerful. We could learn so much from dogs. |
