If you decide against getting the dog, I have an friend that is looking for a yorkie but can't spend alot of money at the moment. I live in Michigan and would be willing to drive to Ohio to pick her up. (I have to drive to University of Toledo anyway!!)

Please PM me. Of course, only if you decide against getting her.

Darwin's "brother" is a 130 Pyrenees/Lab cross. We did take it very slowly introducing them. We got Darwin in July and it wasn't until just before Christmas that I started to relax. Zain, our pyr is still puppyish at 19 months. If anything, it's Darwin that goes for the big guy. If you decide to take in the little one, just sit on the floor with them lots and try to set the boundaries of what's allowed and what isn't. Good luck!:)

I think it would be wonderful for you to have her in your home. Of course this is how I ended up with 3 yorkies because I could not resist them. I love them all and they are 5lbs-15lbs and get along great. Good Luck in your decision.

Thank you i never thought of that i cant believe that did not cross my mind. gatsby and our large dog grew up together they wear almost the same size as puppies and our larger dog just shot up at six months old she still thinks gatsby is the big one and is very submissive to him but i dont know how she will do with a another small dog

by the way Gatsby is not fixed because they do not believe he will wake up if put under anesthesia im currently looking into a small dog specialist to talk about a neuter (it really upsets me when people think im irresponible its childish i know but it dose )

I definitely think that you should give her a try. Bring her home and test the waters. I'll bet she surprises you and fits in perfectly.

To the OP. It sounds like this little girl and her owner live in your neighborhood, which would make it easy for you to get to know her personality prior to making any kind of decision. Talk to her current owner and explain to her that you already have two dogs and would like to have a chance to get to know this little girl. Maybe ask her to walk her with you while you walk your own baby. That's how I bonded my old roomie's 8 yr old Pomeranian, and how the same pom bonded to his new 1.5 yr old little terrier/dachshund mix sis. Whether your new pup is going to be a baby or a more mature dog, it will be a transition period for all involved, even humans! :) Remember she sought you out. Be flattered that she thinks you take good care of your baby and wants the same for the yorkie in her care. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Just my two cents. Good luck!

When I rescued my little Tia, she was a mere 2 lbs. Because I was more worried about her well being, it never crossed my mind to worry that one of my 5 at home could hurt her. My others babies range from 6.5 to 15 lbs, but, they have never even snapped at Tia. I got her last Easter, she'll be 2 in a few days, and up to a whopping 3 lbs now and just as happy as she can be. All my babies love each other! :D I say give it a shot. If it doesn't work, she would make a perfect playmate for Tia!:p

My Cali was very sick as a puppy and had a suspected liver shunt so I had her spayed at a specialty hospital that had the equipment and drs to get her spayed in the best possible environment. The vet was a board certified surgeon so that may be something you can look in to. So i know how you feel.
I hope it all works out and you can get her.

I would take her and bring her home for a trial run and see how they all get along. It sounds like you want her and you would provide a good home for her. If it doesn't work out, speak with the woman, and convince her that a Reputable Yorkie Rescue would be the next best bet, so she doesn't keep getting passed around from home to home...

...my guess is that you will keep her though...

p.s. I understand your fears about the neuter, but I like your approach in looking for a qualified small breed vet!

If she is 3 already, you can at least get some background on her, vets records, etc.
I have big dogs, and they are very sweet to the little ones, though they are never left alone, together. I like to be around when they are playing, to see nothing gets out of hand!

well i went this morning to talk to talk with the woman (who's name by the why is Leona) and the little girl(Sara) has not been to the vet since Leona's husband died which was a year ago so later this week im taking Sara to the vet and buying her a coat because Leona is sure she has one but just isn't sure where it is. after that we are all going to a indoor dog run to meet and see how it goes.
