Xpen Help I need to get a Xpen for my new Yorkie. Till he is trained I need to put him in there when I go out. I am looking for a xpen that is easy to put up and take down. Can anyone recommend one? I see some fabric ones online as well as the metal ones. If you have a metal one do you find it hard to put up and take down all the time? Thanks

I have two metal ones. Got the 18 inch first so it would be easy and portable. Works great for that plus you can step in and out. Problem is I have a little jumper so it's not high enough anymore. Now I have the 30 inch one. It is more secure, still easy to fold up and put away. The plastic one (i bought it then took it back) is soooooooo heavy and bulky it is almost laughable for a little yorkie. The fabric ones are nice but if your pup still chews, might not be the best option. | |

I have the heavy duty plastic Xpen from Babies R Us. It has been wonderful. I don't know what we would do without it!!! Chloe is 5 months old and we still use it....at nap time, and when we go out. Its perfect. Joy

I just ordered the heavy duty Pet Yard XT plastic one for my sister. She just got a 12 week old Silky - LuLu Is it really good? Is it hard to set up and take down? Is it heavy? Does it take up alot of room when set up?

No, the Xpen I have is really not too heavy and it fits together easy. It does take up some space but thats ok. Chloe doesn't mind it when I put her in her in......she has her toys, bed, blanket , water bowl and potty pads!!!! Its great!!! Joy

Xpens are lifesavers!! They are versatile.Use all 8 sections or double a couple of them back and make it smaller. It can be folded and taken ANYwhere and stored anywhere. Travel with a critter? But a couple of vinyl tablecloths with felt on the back. Spread the cloth down and set the pen up. The felt holds the cloth in place. Papers or wee pads over the cloth and voila! A wonderful way to travel with your baby ar visit realtives or whatever. I buy mine 24 inches high but 30 might be a bit better..And, get stainless steel dishes that hook on the wires and less mess..
