I'm weary of another rescue as I fear it will have some of the same issues Oliver has. The only time Ollie chills is when there is another dog around for long periods of time, showing him that life isn't so scary. I feel rather rushed to find another baby, for him, as I know he needs and craves canine companionship. I am really trying to not let that force me to rush into it and make a bad decision. I'd rather pay more now and less later in vet bills. Problem with breeders who do it right is that they are breeding to standard and trying for under 7 pounds - I want a dog 7-12 pounds. I may have to go with another breed... :(

You may have to have a dog shipped or drive some distance. My mom has a nice yorkie female that is a little bigger but very well rounded, hasn't had any problems and has AKC papers.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I truly am overwhelmed and wish there was a YT'er who was breeding closer so I could just know I was getting a puppy from a good person who loves the breed!

i know a breeder that i highly recommend that breeds for the goldens and her goldens sometimes have white blazes down their faces..its fades when they get older

i wonder if the parents have a parti and/or golden traits and thats why the colors are how they are...yes they look larger, out of standard but still cute

I highly recommend researching the breeder before buying any dog if you want to avoid health problems. Please don't just take thier word on some classified add. Do you know anything about this breeder?

I notice this breeder used TCUP to describe one of thier males. I don't think a reputable breeder would use this term.;)

I would never buy without first researching - which is why I have emailed for more info. I need information that I can google to see if there are any reports, good OR bad. I would also ask for references that I can call before purchasing the dog - If they are unwilling to give them, that is a deal breaker for me.

As for the tcup puppy, I think it's sadly a term that SO many people are using. While I see that as a negative point (and I told them so in my email, there is no such thing as a tcup), I would assume that many say it because that is what they think people want to hear. I wouldn't assume they are bad just because of that. I will make my decision once I have more info to look into it further. :)

Glad your going to research.:thumbup: Hopefully, you search will end well.
I just don't think a reputable breeder would use the trendy term of 'tcup', and finding a reputable breeder, who has done their homework, will better ensure you are getting a healthy pup.

haha we paid 850! and everyone keeps telling us he looks like a jack russell/yorkie mix... honestly, we had no experience- and voila. our yorkie is like 10-11 pounds and not a single person said he looked purebred. he did as a puppy though! lol! then again he was huge...haha Although you talk to any larger yorkie owner, and he kinds of looks like them too... could just be a badly bred yorkie! but honestly- at this point whatever. he's our son!

I would totally get one of those barrie pups. I think they're cute! and they look like a decent size too.

Oh Derby is CUTE! I just love the floppy ears, I would never trade Ollie's for anything. Oliver was badly bred too (vet thinks he's a yorkiepoo, but I don't see it?), but he's still my love. His size is awesome, small enough that it doesn't kill me to carry him around but he's still sturdy. I definitely would prefer a larger pup, which will likely mean going with a mixed breed. I know many people will contest that, but to each their own. If I ensure that the pups are raised in a loving, healthy environment, I don't care if they are half whatever.

The Mother definetly looks Yorkie,but those pups are definetly NOT,but so adorable,if you knew how big they will get,be ok,but not for $700,00

Have you considered getting a different breed? We have a yorkie and a chi (a chorkie but you can't tell there is ANY yorkie in her) and they get along great. Play all the time, sleep together, etc. If you chose a different breed it might be easier to get the size you are looking for.

It is VERY hard to purchase a good yorkie from a good breeder for a good price.

Check your local shelters, too - many many small breed dogs at rescues in my area. When we decide to get a third, we will probably rescue.
