| How do you keep your nosy pooch inside your fence? Charlie is 13 months old and is quite the nosy doggy. We have a wrought iron fence in our back yard that would be ideal for a dog weighing in at more than 7 pounds. Charlie can slip right through the slats and the fence is useless to us. Do any of you have any ideas about what I can rig up to fill in the gaps of the fence, short of adding chicken wire to it (which I'm sure my neighbors wouldn't appreciate)? Thanks, Charlie'sMom |

| Maybe you could try some lattice like they use around a deck...or weave that privacy fence material thru the bars?

| We have the same problem. Our wrought iron fence in front of the house has slats wide enough that our Sophie could slip through them if she wanted to, especially if she sees a squirrel and tries to chase it. A couple of weeks ago, we purchased bird netting which is very flexible, lightweight, and from a distance nearly invisible. We cut strips of netting about 12 inches high and attached it around the perimeter of the fence in the places that Sophie could potentially get through. We used "outdoor" one-inch black duct tape that I bought at Home Depot, and it's holding up pretty well even with the torrential rains we've been having this week (New York). My garden is surrounded by a hedge of holly, so Sophie can't get through the shrubs. We haven't had a chance to truly test it because the weather's been so bad. We'll let her outside this weekend once it stops raining and see how she reacts to it, but we have a feeling it might work. Bird netting comes in black and can be purchased at garden centers or online, and it comes in a roll in several different sizes (1 inch, 5/8 inch, etc). I got mine from the Gardeners' Supply Company, www.gardeners.com. If you choose to go this route, then supervise your pup before leaving him out in the yard by himself so that you'll be able to determine if the netting will work for you. | Home Depot sells a screen for your iron fence. It kind of looks like lace sheets, it comes in Black & White. I think it's the same screen they use on security doors. Good Luck!!!
