| Does she need a sweater? Hi again everyone, I feel silly because I've started like, 100 new threads it seems in the past few days, but you are all way more knowledgable than I am!! So, I'm sure you all know by now my Sasha is coming home to me on the 23rd, she is my first Yorkie (and dog for that matter). I read that a lot of you put clothes on your babies to keep them warm. I love in Las Vegas, it's stiffling during the summer, and in the winter the coldest it gets here is around 40 degrees. Obviously she will be an indoor dog, but lets say for this month (it's around the 60s temp wise here) does she need a shirt or a sweater? Will she get cold in the house or would she need one just when I take her outside? And what about the summer? We blast our AC pretty heavily due to the heat here (in the 100s), will she be cold? Please help!

| Yorkies have thin hair like fur so I look at it as if they were human it'd be like having thin clothing on. So if I'm cold I believe they are cold. My big dog had a thick double coat of fur on so he's always hot. LoL. Please don't feel bad for asking questions. It makes you an educated puppy mom. You're going to be a wonderful Mom!!

| I agree, have one just in case, but it depends on the dog. Nala only wears clothes in the winter and Bandit wears them except in the summer and sometimes during the summer if we're inside someones house if their AC is really cold |

| I would say yes too. Don't worry about starting so many threads. It shows what a good Yorkie Mommy you will. It's good to be prepared.

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | already have some great advice here...but being that she is a puppy and depending on how big she is...she may not be able to fit any store bought close...here is a picture of how to make her a sweater out of a tube sock...

| Congratulations on your new baby. I would say just watch Sasha and see if she shivers. My Hot Rod likes to be warm and under blankets while Maggie May is hot blooded and will climb out from under the blankies and sleep in the wide open.
