Donating YT 11K Club Member | Potty time Do you have a word you say to let your babies know to go potty? When I say potty now..i point to the peepads and the girls go then i give them a treat but that's when they pee. Do you use the same word for #2? I don't wanna confuse them..for the most part they are going on the pee pads but sometimes they are not..like they will go #2 somewhere else.

| In my house, EVERYBODY knows what "potty" means and its a race to the door lol and outside they do both businesses out there, so I don't know. I think if I could get them to learn that it means #1 and #2, that would be ideal. ??

Thor's Human Donating Member | I say "Potty" and "BM". I figured I could use BM outdoors and not sound totally silly if someone was passing by. I still feel silly, though! In retrospect, two hand gestures would probably be better. Dogs read those more easily, and humans probably won't notice them. Last edited by QuickSilver; 02-13-2010 at 12:56 PM. |

| I have to go through the 20 questions list when Reesie stands there staring at me and yaps. I wait for the question that gets the biggest head-cock and away we go. "Hungry?" "Outside, go potty?" "Play squeaky?(fetch)" "Want a cookie?" "Critters? (outside)", and on it goes. The 'outside go potty' usually involves a chase through the house when she sees me with the harness and leash. |
