| Anyone not do top knots? So I love how the top knot looks and I know it is a "classic" look for the yorkie, but I was just wondering if there is anyone who doesn't have the top knot look on their babies..? I occassionally put barets in my babies but really haven't done the top knot. Mostly that is because my husband says "no fountains!" lol Part of me wants to do it just to irritate him. so any non-top knots out there? hehe

| I've got one that does and one that doesnt have one. Its much easier for the one who doesnt wear one, but I LOVE top knots. If someone could just teach me how to keep one in ALL day--I'll be in topknot heaven!!!! Anyone know which size bands work the best?? I use a real super tiny one thats tricky to get it to stretch just to get it on, but it still doesnt stay on all day. |

| I can't really do much with my yorkie but on my maltese I will even give her two piggy tails. And I have plenty of barretes for every day wear (just easier).

Thor's Human Donating Member | I'm in a constant quest to find a maintainable haircut for Thor that doesn't involve making him look more girly than he already does. I actually think I found a pretty good style (I'm sure I'm not the only who thought of it, but until someone else says something, I'm taking credit, heh): I do a top knot sort of on Thor's forehead, like he's a unicorn. Then I take the ends of THAT hair and put in another little band sort of in between his ears, so the top knot lies flat on his head. I find the double pony tail tends to stay longer. I would love to post pictures but... I recently boarded Thor, and they cut off his top knot!! They said it got really matted and they couldn't brush it out. So now it's this horrible length, super short on top and long everywhere else, like a mullet for dogs. And all the hair on his nose is still long and I can't tie it up so it's right in his eyes. grrrrr. |

| I do love top knots but when I try, within 5 minutes, it's on the floor. lol My boy's ears wouldn't even stay up, so a knot on his head wouldn't work for sure. My girl handles the barrets okay but they don't stay in that long either. typical yorkie.... doesn't wear something unless they want to! haha

| One of my babies, Jimi, is SUCH a boy. He refuses to wear topknots. No matter how tight it is in.. he manages to get it out. So I gave up on him. I just got a new boy and I am trying to make Marshall wear bows and a topknot and stuff.. he is alot better than his brother but I think he is slowly starting to mimic his brother's ways...

| Daily Uni wears mini barrettes. On special occasions she will get a topknot. She doesn't mind it much now that I know how to do one. Before I was putting it too tight and too close to the scalp.

| Jacie's topknot stays up without a problem, Sophie can sling her's out in minutes. I think it's the difference in their hair. Jacie has a full silky coat, whereas Sophie has the cottony coat and her topknot hair is so fine that it doesn't seem like she has much hair there.

| Pixie doesn't wear a top knot. We keep her bangs cut and it looks the best on her. The groomers will put two bows in and she has them out in two second. I would like to let her bangs grow out and try a top knot and she how she looks with one.

| Remy does not wear a top knot his groomer cuts his "visor" short IMO the top knot is a bit too feminine for a boy; even without one everyone thinks he is a girl.... |

| Sunshine ... no way . After we brush him out he has to rub on the rug and chairs just to mess it up . He is a classic scruff muffin ,so have to keep him fairly short.

| i keep my girls hair on their head long.....so if i want to pull it up i can........but the boys wear what my hubby lovingly calls a flat top........i guess if you were really trying to describe it it would be a ""mullet""............lol..........Smokey and Romeo both have small faces with their eyes really close.......so their hair gets in their eyes really bad if it is long there..........and i shave just a very small trail down their noses too......for the same reason...........the girls dont have any short hair on their faces .
