How do you get their hair to hold a part? Will it finally get trained to stay parted like human hair does? Susie's hair has no regard whatever for a part.

I've never had a problem with Mollies. She has a silky coat. It probably depends on the coat texture.

I think when the hair gets long enough , (hangs down) it just naturally parts.
Chloe's part is staying much better now. She's 5 months old. 3 lbs.

Yeah my two seem to stay when it got longer as they got older.

How old is Susie?
Princess is going to be three in March.
Her part has been there for a long time.
Even when she gets the summer cut,
you can still see it. I think it depends
on their coat. Is Susie's long enough
for a part? Can you post a picture?

Susie's going to be 5 months on Nov. 4, and I think she's kind of cottony. She has a LOT of hair. It's about 3 1/2 inches on her back but because it's fluffy, it doesn't hang down much. Lays down a little bit but there's a lot of fluff in it. Maybe has it gets longer it will part better. It does better around her shoulder blades than it does getting closer to her hips.

When my groomer starts to dry her hair, she starts it right up the parted area from one end of her back to the other. Of course, their dryers are as powerful as rockets. Kacee's just naturally goes that way and Muffin's did, too.

I can't get it to stop parting

Trixie is 7 months and just in the last month or so I really started noticing the parting on her neck and back.

I think their hair parts a little better as the adult hair starts to come in. Mine are 5 months and the boys are still black, the girls are getting their silver and it seems to part and fall a little better (it is also silkier, where the baby coats seem more cottony)

After you bathe her, brush her wet hair at the same time while using a hair dryer. It comes out nice and straight and goes into a part easily. But your baby may not be old enough to have the type of hair for that. The time will come, for sure!

It sounds like Susie's adult coat hasn't started to really come in yet. Once that happens, you'll have better luck. It was only a few weeks ago when Cooper's hair began to part and he's 7 months old.

I feel like a real idiot! I've been thinking Susan is for sure cottony all this time, but now I remember there's such a thing as puppy coat! All puppies are fluffier than they are as adults. Where has my brain been? OK, now I'll just be patient and see how she turns out and wait for her hair to part. Lately I've been thinking, well maybe she's not as cottony as I thought. Now I see why I've been revising my opinion. What a dolt! You'd think I'd never had a puppy before. But I have an excuse. I'm so in love, I'm twitterpated and can't think straight!

When Cooper was younger, I didn't like his coat at all. My daughter wanted to keep him in a puppy cut, which was fine for me. I think that keeping him short through his puppy months helped for when his adult coat finally started coming in. Kinda like a child . . . . cutting the baby hair as it starts to grow helps it look thicker.

Cooper didn't look silky as a pup but sure is silky now!

I love that you are twitterpated

Bentley has the strangest coat...his whole head and half way down his back parts and is as silky as it can be...but the lower half of his back is more cottony

The pups are almost seven months old now and their hair is starting to part really pretty. It's looking like it's going to be silky but I don't know if you can tell for sure this eary. Bitsy's is more silky all over and keeps a part all the time. She's four years old.
