Does Anyone Know What A Parti Yorkie Undocked Tail Looks Like? The day that we had scheduled to take Livi's babies in to get their tails docked was the morning that everything happened and we almost lost her. Soooo, obviously, we didn't add to the stress of everything by taking the puppies to the vet that day. I was wondering if anyone knows if her parti babies will have a tail that looks like the Biewer? I LOVEEEEEEEEE the full fluffy look of the Biewer tail...so pretty!!!! I have noticed that the Yorkie undocked tail does not have the same look. Please, no one get upset with me for writing this...I have just noticed that the hair looks so thick on the Biewer tail. I have never seen a parti Yorkie with an undocked tail so I am just curious what they might look like and if anyone has seen one or possibly have pictures to share. Thanks! Tammy |
I haven't seen a full tail on a Parti but I can't imagine it would look that much different than a Biewer if the dog is in full coat. Some Biewers have thick coats and some have thinner coats so all of their tails don't look the same either. I love the long tail and, contrary to what some believe, it doesn't get in the way of things...if you know what I mean ;) |

I would assume that it would have the tail of a yorkie as supposedly the Biewer is not a yorkie. But that is just my guess. Isn't a parti a yorkie with white on it and a Biewer is not a yorkie? I just don't know enough about the Biewer to know...but assuming since a parti is suppose to be yorkie I would again guess it would have a yorkie tail. Does that make sense? |

Are you saying that the "Biewer people" would be offended by that statement???? |

A biewer is a Yorkie (only 1 group says it is not to get into AKC) so I also believe a Parti and a Biewer is the same dog via pedigree's then a Parti with a tail will look like a Biewer. |
Tammy...let me put it this way...I have 2 female Biewers who have a ton of hair with a combination cottony/silky coat and their tail hair is thick...I have 2 males with thinner silk coats and their tail hair is thinner. All of them have beautiful plumes for tails that drape over their backs and I would imagine your Yorkie would too. I love the long tails and if it gets too long you can trim it just like the rest of their hair. |
Does Anyone Know What A Parti Yorkie Undocked Tail Looks Like? Ahhhhh yup.... a Biewer ;) Quote:

I'm glad Livi and the babies are doing good and you have proved to be a very strong person and dedicated to your babies. You know we disagree on the parti vs the standard but I applaud you for your courage, strength and love for you babies!!! Donna |

I do think some Biewers have a look that is different than a parti, especially those who both sides can be traced back to Germany. Some breeders are mixing parti's and Biewers and I believe this dilutes the Biewer line. The German Biewers seem to have a much thicker coat and they seem to be bigger boned. This would affect how the tail on each would look. A very small boned tail, with sparse hair, might look more rat-like, while a bigger boned tail with very thick hair, could be quit pleasant. |

I just love the full tails on my Morkies, and wouldn't have minded if my Yorkie had one too. Can't wait to see more pics as your pups start growing more. |

That is one spunky looking fur baby....LOVE THAT!!! Very very very cute!! |
I guess the tail hair will be what the coat will end up being...fluffy tail if their coats will be a cotton/soft coat or more sparse if a silk coat. You'll just have to wait when those gorgeous babies grow up :) I've seen some standard yorkies from Europe with full tails in pictures and it seems the European yorkies have more of a thicker silk coat than those over here in the US. Doesn't matter anyway you'll love them anyway :) |
