I have my animal family with us and want to know of any Pet Friendly Motels, Camp Grounds or such that will accomodate us. We have a tent trailer that we are also pulling and my pets have their own crates.. I just need any suggestions or advise to make this easy for everyone. Also are their any Tennessee Yorkie Pals to make new friends? Any advise on how the weather is from California to Tenn.? Any info, advice or new friendships would be fabulous!! I guess I am just nervous!! We have never taken such a big leap before and I am excited and scared at the same time. We are also looking to rent for a little while.. Is there anyone in Tennesse that could suggest where to look or give info..
Thank you so much!!!
I really don't have any suggestions just wanted to say welcome. What part of Tenn are you going to? My mom & my aunt traveled from VA to WA a couple of years ago and my aunt took her two poodles of course that was during the summer and they camped most of the time. I think most hotels are pet friendly. You may just have to do a little research.

Good luck.

Don't forget to pack health records, Keep ID and license tags on them, along with who to contact in case of emergency. Hope your trip goes smooth, sounds like a great adventure, Tennessee is a very pretty state. Happy Trails to y'all !!

Default You lucky dog you

I too am planning on a big move after the first of the year. heading out of California and to either Texas, SC or Indiana. Know what you mean, SoCal living is so high. I rent a one bedroom apt and my rent just went up to $1200 a month and I pay all my own utilities including water, sewer, trash etc. Just rent and utilities comes to almost $1500 a month and I am an older single gal, cannot live here anymore, I too was raised here since I was 2 years old and I cannot wait to leave. Good luck and keep a journal of your trip. Oh, and this is not a fancy apt, at least 40 years old, just a small swimming pool, no other amenities.

i wish you luck with your dogs during the move...just stop and let them out as often as you can, don't over feed them alot of treats during the car ride time and take some nutri cal with you incase they do get car sick. give them lots of water, dogs will get hotter when they are nervous. good luck and let us know how it goes
Thank you for your wonderful wishes and advice! I will be loading up on lots of Nutrical and will take all suggestions to good use! I will also post pictures on our travels and let everyone know when we arrive their safely and how the trip went with them.
Many Blessings;

I know what you mean!California prices are horrible!The only thing I like is the weather.. Our mortgage is $1300.00 a month and that doesn't include monthly insurance and property taxes!We just can't afford it anymore! We feel like we are married to our house with no extra funds for anything else!Plus my house is all electric and we know what those bills are running! So yes, I do know and my emotions about leaving all that I have known all my life are running high right now plus worrying about everything! I have to put this in God's hands and have him direct me ... It has been so stressful!! It's just too much to pay for good weather only! I don't blame you a bit.. Maybe you should also add Tenn. to your list and I will keep a watch out for you too!! I can't thank you and everyone else for all the wonderful shoulders to cry on, the awesome links and advice!!! Stay in touch with me!! Where abouts in California do you live? Do you have family in the other States that you mentioned? Many Blessings to you and Hang on! I DO know how hard it is!! I am raising two kids also and we just can't make it here anymore and hated to up root them from their friends, they have been wonderful about all of this and can't wait to go on their new adventure and are even practicing their accents!!! I need to take their carefree, everything will be all right attitude! Kids and our Animal babies are the best! What would we do without them! Take care now and stay in touch!!

Thank you so very much for the wonderful links! I plan on looking the states up that we are traveling through and even trying to get a general idea of the times that we might be arriving and since someone suggested even booking reservations. These linked helped all lot! I bought a AAA Pets Friendly Book from the book store and the places were so very expensive! I liked the way the links showed franchise of Motel Chains that will welcome Pets. We even became members of the KOA campgrounds which I mapped out along our route.. The only thing is that we are also driving our own Commercial 24' truck and don't know if they will accomodate that also. I know they will accomodate RV's .. We will have to call them.. Just trying to get my Plan A,B,and C's into place! Thank you again!! Lots of great information on the sites!!

Thank you for such a warm welcome! Yes, this is very addicting and I have learned so much from fellow members! This site is priceless! I named my little Yorkie Skeeter because of going to Tenn. He needed a Southernly name.. I almost named him Wiley Coyote! He looked just like a little Coyote with his button pointy nose when I took him home from the breeders. So the family took a vote and guess which name won! Skeeters other Fur Brothers and Sisters are: Logan (Black Male Lab/Great Dane mix), Destiny (Black Female Sharpei/Lab Mix), Bailey (Female Black Lab/Terrier mix), Frisco (Male Shih Tzu) , Madison (Female Corgie/Chihuaua ((Spelled Wrong probably)), and the baby Skeeter our Yorkie. All of the dogs have been a rescue except for Skeeter which is from a Breeder. I used to work at Petsmart and would adopt alot as you can tell! We also have Two African Grey Parrots too, Reptiles and some other furry little creatures! We are advid Animal lovers as you can tell! A bit crazy I know. We don't plan for all of them to stay at a Motel that's for sure! We just want to make the little ones comfortable. The rest we have crates and padded beds and are pulling a horse trailer with them. My hubby has a mattress in the back to rest on to keep them calm. Just the little ones, kids and I will be at the Motel. Hope you aren't sorry you asked about Skeeters fur family. That is the other reason why we need to be in the Country!! So now that I have probably made you a bit (Dizzy) I would love to hear about yours and other members Furbabies and their names. How did you get your name Sketter by the way?

No I loved hearing about your babies. My Sketter was named by my 8 yr. old grandson. He went with me to the breeders to get him, on the way home Sketter had pooped and puked all over the grandson, so I figured he at least had the right to name him ha ha. Sketter is also from a breeder then theres Annie I got her I guess you could say from someone who wasnt caring for her properly so I bought her anyway figurein I could find her a better home. Anyway I did post her on YT for a while then I had someone come look at her and found out we couldnt let her go. She is my husband little girl and my grandson and granddaughter would kill me. We love her just as much as Sketter.

When I was looking for a female I was looking for a much smaller girl w/the baby doll face... Well I guess Im looking to add another baby cause Im not giving up untill. So Ill end up with 3 babies soon.
See your not the only one thats winded ha .
Good luck moving with all the family.

I love the name as you can tell!! I think your eight year grandson did a good job and I think after what he went through he should have named him!! So I didn't quite understand.. That is great about Annie.. That's how I felt too so as you can see I have had my heart strings tugged at quite a few times!! What type of breed is Annie? Do you happen to know what type of breed your will be getting for your 3rd furbaby? I thing they all are so special and give us lots of love in return.. They sure make you feel better when your day isn't going quite like it should!! You should post a picture of Annie so we all can see her too.. She is quite special it seems!! Thank you for your lovely wishes regarding our move.. We will be here for another month but it is sure going by fast and so much still to do!!
Many Blessings;
