Oh no! Well, as many of you know, I sometimes dog-sit my friend's yorkie, Guinness. This weekend the owner went to NYC so I am watching him. Then she has an another dog, Shih Zu, Kahlua. Her other friend, who is my colleague, is watching Kahlua. Kahlua has been throwing up and pooping blood since last night. My colleague didn't call me for help!!!!!!! Now she is driving her to here without a driver license but driving permit... so i can take her to vet.. of course I am taking a cab.. it will be about 40 dollars.. but who cares! I hope she is going to be okay. The owner is on the bus from NYC.... she is awfully worried. Well I don't know what made Kahlua to get really sick.. but my colleague who was watching her also has a pitball and german sherpard mix.. Maybe Kahlua got really stressed out about the other dog and a new place. ... she will be here soon..

Is Kahlua a puppy? If so, I believe it is something that starts with a "c" (sorry I can't think of it) and can be cleared up pretty easily. If Kahlua is an adult I think it may be more serious. Please keep us posted, and I sure hope all goes well!

Thank you for all your messages. I just got back from the MSPCA, the Animal Medical Center. The good thing is that the doctor saw her right away as soon as I walked in. She is now admitted to the hospital and will stay there for a couple days.. I guess she was throwing up and pooping a lot of blood from early morning. I got a call about 12:30 p. Since my friend and I don't drive, she couldn't bring her to me until 3:30 p. First, she should have called me this morning, and she should have taken a cab from her house.. but she was scared of the cost I guess... Anyway...she was happy to see me when she was dropped off at my house. Of course she couldn't move much but waved her tail. Since I visit her very often, she knows better than she knows my other friend... plus I don't have any dogs... so she can calm down. As soon as she got here, I brought her to the Animal Hospital. It was 21 dollars for a cab and I gave this nice cab driver 26 total. So it was much cheaper than what I expected, which was about 50. Anyway.. I told the owner that I would just pay the cab from my pocket... but cannot pay for the vet visit fee. Anyway.. when I got to MSPCA, everyone there was so nice. I got kinda bothered by people calling her "he" when I am correcting them, but that was not a big deal. Everyone was sweet. Guinness behaved much much better than I expected. He was freaking out himself to see his sister (not really because of different breed). He was awfully worried about Kahlua. I totally forgot the diagnose that doctor told me but here was the problem. Kahlua was critical condition. Her temperature was awfully low, and her blood was very concenstrated. The number that the doctor explained to me was far from normal. It was really scary. So she will have to stay there for a couple days at least. So my friend, the owner, got off from the bus after coming back from New York City and she rushed to the hospital. She took care of all the paper work for her dog to be admitted. Crazy thing is that... it costed her $1200. My friend is really stressed out about money and Kahlua's health condition. I felt so bad for her I hope Guinness will keep her company and cheer her up tonight. The girl who dropped off Kahlua to me so I can take Kahlua to the hospital, she is also under a lot of stress. I am stressed too, but I am happy that she will be taken care at 24 hr facilities. I am looking at the towel that covered with blood I hope she will feel better soon. I will keep you updated.
