That was hard to read ! You really were very lucky - VERY. I had a similar thing happen but only had my 2 with me and was able to hold them under my chin while the dog jumped on my back - I just kept turning in circles till the woman finally made it to me and pulled her dog off us - can't think of what would have happened had I had 4 dogs.

I have to agree with CJ - there's something about small dogs that trigger bigger dogs emotions - maybe because they're the size of toys ? I really don't know but it sure happens alot....

What happened to you could have been a devestating tragedy not only for your dogs but for YOU. The woman is just nasty for laughing ! I can't really blame the boy or dog but the mother ? You and/or your yorkies could have easily been killed ! I dont understand how anyone can think it's funny when their dogs attack

What is going on with all of these people who think it's no big deal for big dogs to attack little ones? This is outrageous and I'm beginning to think these people are hateful and jealous towards little dogs...especially Yorkies. More laws need to be passed for this type of neglect of responsibility and owner behavior.

I feel angry for you!! I to had a similiar experience and now I never walk my babies with out mace.
I used to live in a beautiful neighborhood of free standing condo's filled with wonderful owners and little dogs. Until one day a new family moved in with a rottweiler who was a monster! This dog on two occaisons almost injured my girls. When I spoke with the owner he laughed and said sorry. I called the cops both times and he was fined by the condo association for violating the leash clause. One day I was walking my girls and my neighbors 2 yorkies and out of nowhere came this vicious monster! I grabbed hold of 3 pups and stuffed them in my sweat shirt, as I was reaching for the 4th pup and the rotty nocked me to me knees and I was able to huddle over all the pups. I managed to mace the dog and he ran away. The pups were safe but I had to get 7 stitches. I don't know what would have happend if I was not carrying mace.

How awful for you. I remember when Kacee was a puppy and we were walking up our addition. All of a sudden I saw a great dane coming toward us and I, too, grabbed Kacee and stuck her up my sweatshirt. I had never seen this dog before and I knew he didn't belong to anyone here. My ordeal had a different ending than yours. Thankfully. I hollered at the great dane and he tucked his tail and went back to where he'd been standing.

The second one is probably better for walking our dogs but it's heavier and bulkier. The length is what's nice - it keeps who/whatever at a distance from you.

I'm so sorry this happened to you and your babies. I don't understand why people don't take more time to make sure their dogs are well trained and I don't just mean big dogs. I have seen many a small dog go after someone and for people who are scared of dogs it's terrifying. I really feel if you can't be bothered to take the time to insure that you have a well behaved dog you shouldn't be allowed to own one.

OMG I would have done the same thing, that you did. How very VERY rude of the woman to laugh at you. Some people should not be aloud to have animals in there presence. ANYONE who thinks that was funny needs to seak mental help!!

Again I charge the dog screaming for someone to help me and punching and kicking till he releases her! Now I have 2 of my babies in my hand (still screaming for help) and Holly takes off running down the road crying because she is so scared. Cars are coming, I'm flagging at them and pointing down at the road so they can see her in the road and hoping they would get out and help me. Now that huge monster has my LuLu and I am frantically trying to keep site of Holly and now I'm thinking one is definitely going to be killed right before my eyes!!! Finally some man came from nowhere and grabbed the Bull Mastiff which freed Lulu and all I could do was run after Holly. By this time I was shaking and crying (I think I was in shock). Finally captured Holly and collapsed on someones front yard so I could check them for injuries. Was I shocked there was no blood or cuts. All of a sudden this woman appears and she is laughing and asking if we are all right????? Is she crazy or is it me???? She explained to me that it is her sisters dog and the 7 yr. old wanted to walk him and she thought it would be OK!!!!
(still laughing she proceeds to tell me it is a very gentle dog. When I told her he attacked my dogs, she said yea, he only gets vicious when he sees other dogs!!! By then I told her I didnt know if my dogs were hurt until I get them to the vet to be checked still laughing she walked away. What is wrong with people to let a child walk such a big dog without supervision.
Thank God, all my babies are OK and no one was hurt. Even my vet said it was a miracle. I called the police to make a report, and they said there was nothing they could do about it! If it was a child, I bet they wouldn't have said that! I just wanted them to be aware that there is a vicious dog in our neighborhood.
What really got me was no one came out to help! I saw people looking out windows, cars driving by, and yet nothing. I think that is what made me so much angrier. Any way sorry for being so long, just needed to vent.
Hold your babies tight and watch them at all times.

My suggestion is this .I don't know about there but here it is a bilaw to have control of your pet .Please call the bi law office or town hall ask them for a number or what you can do . Police well I would stick out your tongue and go this route I am so happy your babies are ok .You can get the last laugh when she gets a bi law ticket slapped on her .

A nice letter to the editor of your local paper telling your story and thanking the people that helped

THAT IS JUST AWFUL!!!!! I'm so glad they were ok physically..who knows mentally? I'm sure that they were as affected as you were! Why do so many idiots own large, out-of-control dogs?????!!!

I cannot even believe what you went through. What a nightmare. My one dog was attacked by a silky terrier and that was terrifying enough. I can't image what you and your babies went through. I know Calleigh's experience has made her afraid of most dogs now. It's a real shame. I think I would have yelled at that stupid woman too. I'm sorry the police couldn't do anything. I always carry citronella or pepper spray wherever you go. At least you have a fighting chance. We take our spray every where we go now. As you have found, you just never know. I'm so sorry you all had to go through that. It is truly amazing none of you were hurt or even worse. God was with all of you.

I dunno, I might start carrying a few pounds of dark chocolate with me wherever I go...

My daughter was attacked by neighborhood dogs, officer shot and killed one while we watched since he peppered it 3 times and it still kept coming at him.
