I was very, very nervous reading your story because I have four Yorkies too. I don't know how you managed - it must have been an ordeal with no one to help you. Even if that Mastiff is gentle, he can still shake a little dog to death, even "playing". At the very least they are responsible for your Vet bills and a huge apology. It sickens me that the police said there is nothing they can do. How about paying a visit to the people who own the Mastiff for starters? Thank God your puppies are all ok. It's a miracle. |

Besides, anyone that idiotic to LAUGH in that situation could very well be high on drugs. If you know which house she lived, police might just discover all kinds of bad things going on. mmmm? |
I am so relieved to read that you and all your babies came through that without awful injuries or death! Yes...that is indeed a miracle! I am so disappointed to see that no one wanted to help, and thank the Lord for that man who finally did! The nerve of that lady to laugh and view it as something humorous. She is an evil person for sure! How could anyone laugh over a situation like that? This is just disgusting. I am so sorry you went through such an ordeal, but so thankful you all came out okay. *HUG* |
That is just terrible!! What an ignorant woman. I'm so sorry you had to go through this ordeal, but I'm so thankful that your babies are ok!! Some folks just shouldn't be allowed to be dog-owners!! |
I'm so sorry that happened to you. People really are stupid. It's awful that no one stopped to help you sooner. I had a problem with a pack of dogs in my neighborhood. One was in heat. I called the police. They said I would have to know the owner and make a complaint against the owner! Like these strays have owners! I warned them. This is why small dogs and children get attacked. I'm sort of afraid to even walk my baby. I'm glad all of your babies are o.k. |
Geez, what a horror! You are SO lucky. Six years ago I was leaving a tag sale with my pup in my arms and put her down to make peeps. All of a sudden out of the bushes came this big dog. As I bent down to pick her up he quickly bit her neck. That was the end of Gina. She died within a minute. I was devastated as was my husband and 12 yr old son. The owner of the house, tag sale and dog (I assumed) was right there speechless. She said nothing. Everytime after that when I saw a Yorkie I cried. I just didn't have the money to get another one. My older son was with me once when I saw a pup and told me about strict liability regarding a situation such as this. What do I know? After much detective work to find the darn house which was about an hour away from our home and the owners' names and address, I filed a small claim against them, hoping that dog was theirs. Luckily I was (barely) within the statute of limitations - 1 month left to go - statute is 2 yrs. Within a short time I received a check for the price of Gina, her vet bills and a mileage allowance for the trip to and from the breeder, after I had to defend myself against the owner's claim that her dog WAS SLEEPING and we approached it, hence the bite. Imagine that! (On a side note, that does not change strict liability, even if it were true.) Best of all, about 6 months after that, I found Katie!! Needless to say, I'm VERY paranoid about other dogs. I'll never trust another dog when I'm with Katie. |
I am with everyone else...Just Beyond Shocked and Appalled!! No apology is one thing, but to laugh?! I am just so thankful that your little ones did not require surgery or were senselessly killed. This is why I carry a switchblade with me whenever I walk the pups! I do not have faith in people anymore! So many of them are cretins. It is literally a matter of life and death with little ones, and I have no problem being the judge and jury for the one attacking. Like one of the previous poster stated, I would definitely file the incident. |
