Call the POLICE!! Then see if she is still laughing. I still can't understand people they just P*** me off.:mad: I had a guy tell me that his pit bull could eat all 3 of mine and still be hungry. He too was laughing at me  And thank god your babies are ok. |
That was hard to read ! You really were very lucky - VERY. I had a similar thing happen but only had my 2 with me and was able to hold them under my chin while the dog jumped on my back - I just kept turning in circles till the woman finally made it to me and pulled her dog off us - can't think of what would have happened had I had 4 dogs. I have to agree with CJ - there's something about small dogs that trigger bigger dogs emotions - maybe because they're the size of toys ? I really don't know but it sure happens alot.... What happened to you could have been a devestating tragedy not only for your dogs but for YOU. The woman is just nasty for laughing ! I can't really blame the boy or dog but the mother ? You and/or your yorkies could have easily been killed ! I dont understand how anyone can think it's funny when their dogs attack |
 I am so relieved for you that your baby's are okay!!! What is going on with all of these people who think it's no big deal for big dogs to attack little ones? This is outrageous and I'm beginning to think these people are hateful and jealous towards little dogs...especially Yorkies. More laws need to be passed for this type of neglect of responsibility and owner behavior. |
I feel angry for you!! I to had a similiar experience and now I never walk my babies with out mace. I used to live in a beautiful neighborhood of free standing condo's filled with wonderful owners and little dogs. Until one day a new family moved in with a rottweiler who was a monster! This dog on two occaisons almost injured my girls. When I spoke with the owner he laughed and said sorry. I called the cops both times and he was fined by the condo association for violating the leash clause. One day I was walking my girls and my neighbors 2 yorkies and out of nowhere came this vicious monster! I grabbed hold of 3 pups and stuffed them in my sweat shirt, as I was reaching for the 4th pup and the rotty nocked me to me knees and I was able to huddle over all the pups. I managed to mace the dog and he ran away. The pups were safe but I had to get 7 stitches. I don't know what would have happend if I was not carrying mace. |

This what we have. Small - rechargable - safety pin Cheetah 2.5 Mil Rechargable Stun Gun With LED. - Stun Guns by Stun Gun Direct This similar to what we gave our daughter when she moved into her own home. Stun Batons The second one is probably better for walking our dogs but it's heavier and bulkier. The length is what's nice - it keeps who/whatever at a distance from you. It's too bad we have to result to these precautions and I would only use this as a last resort. |
I'm so sorry this happened to you and your babies. I don't understand why people don't take more time to make sure their dogs are well trained and I don't just mean big dogs. I have seen many a small dog go after someone and for people who are scared of dogs it's terrifying. I really feel if you can't be bothered to take the time to insure that you have a well behaved dog you shouldn't be allowed to own one. |
OMG I would have done the same thing, that you did. How very VERY rude of the woman to laugh at you. Some people should not be aloud to have animals in there presence. ANYONE who thinks that was funny needs to seak mental help!! Quote:

A nice letter to the editor of your local paper telling your story and thanking the people that helped |
THAT IS JUST AWFUL!!!!! I'm so glad they were ok physically..who knows mentally? I'm sure that they were as affected as you were! Why do so many idiots own large, out-of-control dogs?????!!! |

Thank God! I cannot even believe what you went through. What a nightmare. My one dog was attacked by a silky terrier and that was terrifying enough. I can't image what you and your babies went through. I know Calleigh's experience has made her afraid of most dogs now. It's a real shame. I think I would have yelled at that stupid woman too. I'm sorry the police couldn't do anything. I always carry citronella or pepper spray wherever you go. At least you have a fighting chance. We take our spray every where we go now. As you have found, you just never know. I'm so sorry you all had to go through that. It is truly amazing none of you were hurt or even worse. God was with all of you. XOXOXOXOXOOX |
Holy gees. That needs to be story-of-the-year. I dunno, I might start carrying a few pounds of dark chocolate with me wherever I go... My daughter was attacked by neighborhood dogs, officer shot and killed one while we watched since he peppered it 3 times and it still kept coming at him. |
Recall the police The leash law means that the dog is supposed to be under someone's control. Clearly this animal was not. The police may not want/be able to cite the owner as they did not witness an infraction, but you as the victim sure can. Go to the police station and tell them you wish to sign a complaint against the owner of the animal for violation of the leash law, owning a dangerous animal, any and all ordinance violations that are on the books. Maybe it'll just be the leash law...dunno. It is your right. Making her open her purse will help wipe the grin off her face. |
OMG what you went through is my worst nightmare! I also have 4 & can walk them on my own, but always on the back of my mind, I'm thinking 'what if a dog attacks us? I would use my body as a shield.' Damn (excuse my french) that woman for being so ignorant. Aggressive towards dogs? Then why the hell is a child walking him alone?! So glad you & all your furbabies are safe & unharmed. |
OMG:eek: it is a miracle that none of you was hurt! I just don't understand what people are thinking most of the time....that is absolutely horrible! |
I'm just lost for words after reading your story. It was such a relieve to learn that you and your babies were not hurt!!! I can't figure out whether that lady was just laughing because she was that insensitive, trying not to admit any problem to prevent liability for legal reasons, or maybe she is actually this dumb. Thanks for sharing your story, it is a good reminder to be always cautious of large dogs. How are your babies doing mentally? I really hope that it didn't completely ruin the warm season for them and they are still up for going for walks. |
WOW I'm soo sorry you had to go through that. I would have been so afraid and then angry! Time and time again I run into ppl with other dogs and they say they are no harm..you can never tell what the dog will do so I ignore them anyway and hold on to my babies tight. I'm glad all your babies are ok |
Oh love. Your babies might not be hurt on the outsid but could be on the inside and be afraid now of other dogs. That was so irresponsible of the owner. Do you know where they live if so I'd be inclined to send them a letter saying (even if you don't) that you will be seeking advice from your solicitor on this to give them a short, shap, shock.. How could they. I do hope your little ones are ok. Lots of love and hugs Shirl x x |
I couldn't imagine it...I would have punch the lady on her face! Gosh! Okay I wouldn't do that, I'm just so furious after reading your post, how could this kind of people exist in the world? |
When I walk Zena I always carry a rather large and sharp pocket knife just in case of an encounter like you experienced. At the very least I will have a handy weapon to use in her defense. Yes, I've seen children and very small women walking huge powerful dogs tethered to skimpy leashes. People suck! |
Thank you all for your advice on this situation and yes I am going to get some pepper spray and carry it on me when I go out with my babies. I will never walk all 4 together again! It took me a week to go for a walk and that was only because my husband was with me. He wanted me to show him where all this took place. I do not know who owns the dog and I don't even know where the man who came and grabbed the dog came from, since I was running down the road trying to catch Holly. When I did catch her I sat on someones lawn (shaking terribly) to see if my babies were ok. What house the woman came out of I don't know, and since she was laughing like it was nothing made me really angry so I grabbed my babies and started walking home. My babies are ok and back to their cute little selves. Took a few days. Poor things, they just stayed really close and wouldn't let me out of their site. It was as if LuLu was saying "I tried to protect all of us, but it was too much for little old me"! Thankfully they are not afraid to go on walks since I was really worried about that. And as you know how Yorkies are, I have a gated courtyard in the front of my house, and when I let them outside they bark at everyone and even the big dogs that are being walked by their masters. Since I just moved to this area, I dont know anyone and no one seems to know who owns this dog? (yea, right!) I did contact animal control to report also. And as for the little boy, poor kid was screaming and crying the whole time this was going on. I felt bad for him too, since he was watching a wild woman beat the hell out of his dog. |
First let me tell you I am so happy your or your 4 babies were not hurt. What an irresponsible nut case this lady is. No only did she put you and your little one in danger she also put her own child in danger by allowing this young child to walk such a giant dog. She also stated he only get's aggressive when he sees other dogs! Suppose it was another large dog he saw and this child got caught in the middle! This alone the police should be able to write up a complaint against her. She was not protecting her own child and put him in danger. I can understand your fury. I would be livid as well. I hope your little ones are doing well. It was a plain miracle none of them were killed. People don't get involved today, sad isn't it? |
How scary was your experience? I am so glad your fur babies are okay! I think she was laughing because she was nervous and scared. People do that when they are trying to minimize a stressful situation. She is the responsible adult and furthermore her child could have been hurt also. People do NOT think. |
I would have smacked the woman and said, "Oh, I only get vicious when I see other people." Seriously, what is WRONG with some people!? |
:lol tears:lol tears:lol tears:lol tears:lol tears:lol tears:lol tears Quote:

What a nightmare! Some people are so stupid! I wouldn't back down from this. I would find out where that dog came from, who owned it, and I would be after the police until they did something about it. You can't just let a small child wander around with a vicious dog like that! What about the leash laws and the childs safety? Something needs to be done, or this could happen again. Next time, everyone may not be all right. Thank goodness your 4 babies ended up being OK! |
