Less than "perfect" puppy?

My girls parents were 7 lbs and 5lbs. She is 12 lbs at 2.5 years.
Her ears never stood up, but I didnt tape them. I only kept them trimmed short. I don't care though, I'm a sucker for the floppy ear look.

Thanks! I've seen pictures the breeder has posted online (they both look cute as can be to me). She allows people to come to her house and see the puppies, parents, etc. so we're trying to set up a time for tomorrow.

I keep popping in to see if you decided to purchase a new family member. Bijou has an underbite, if you look in my albums you'll see her. It's not extremely noticable. She got such a sweet personality that I love her no matter what. I'm sure you'll feel the same about your baby. Welcome to YT!!!

Went to the breeder to see puppies today. All her dogs were in the house, living as pets (good sign #1). The females were gated off in the kitchen, but the male dogs were out in the living room where we were. All were very friendly- came right up to us wanting to be pet, etc. After she put them in another room, she got puppies out. I was sitting on the floor and both came running over to me immediately, climbed in my lap and started licking my face. Their coats were glossy, eyes shiny & clear, no discharge from noses, etc. From all outward appearances perfectly healthy. Breeder got their mother out and she too came right to me. Wasn't bothered at all that I was petting her pups, very sweet. Both girls were precious and sweet but dh thought "floppy ears" was a bit friendlier. And of the two, I thought she was a wee bit cuter. We put a deposit down and will go back on Friday with my daughter to pick her up!! (Pups are actually 13 weeks old, will be 14 when we get her.) Tried to get pics, but she wasn't very cooperative. Will post next weekend once she's "home".

Floppy ears are adorable too, but don't be surprised if they stand up; it's too soon to tell. Yorkies go thru so many changes in color, coat, size, ears, etc. it is hard to tell at 14 weeks just how she will end up.

Nope, not concerned with perfection appearance-wise. Our schnauzer is a horrible example of the breed standard (huge bat ears that stick up instead of folding over for one), but we think she's precious and love her!

My mini schnauzer is a not so mini at 26 pounds, but she's all schnauzer and wouldn't have her any other way.

Heck yeah do it! That is exactly how I got Gracie for only $700.00. I had to drive 4 hours, and would do it again. Gracie has floppy ears, it;s not a genetic defect, it just happens sometimes. and she HAD a tiny over bite, it has since corrected itself, which happens a lot after the baby teeth fall out.

It isn't harmful at all, and the floppy ears are ADORABLE. Check out Gracie in my album...She is a doll. Probably would be show quality if it weren't for the ears, but so what I don't plan to show her.

And cheaper doesn't always mean poor quality or bad breeder.

Oh yeah that is true!! My baby, Pennie had 1 ear up and one down. I just kept massaging the ear, mainly because I liked doing it. Within a week it was straight up! So at that age massaging the ears will probably work. Keep the ears shaved too helps.
