| ![]() My little guy is over 5 1/2 mos weighs 3 pounds and is eating barely 1/4 cup twice a day. He is small (not skinny) and, perfectly healthy! He eats plenty! You cant force them to eat... I put food down sometimes to see if he in hungry and he won't touch it. My goodness my pug doesnt even eat 1 1/4 cups a day and he is 16pounds. |

| ![]() My girl will be 6 months old in Feb. She weighs 3.8 lbs and I would guess eats about 1/4 cup twice a day. I switched her from Purina Puppy Chow which is what the breeder had her on to TOTW (which my Westie eats). However, she has had some issues and while the vet is not ready to switch her to low protein yet - the puppy chow had much less protein than the TOTW and she likes it better. AND, she's doing better on it. So I know it's not the BEST food; but it seems to work better for her right now while her other (liver) issues are being evaluated. And best of all - she actually eats it! When she first came home - she didn't eat all that well either. Sometimes I would have to throw it on the floor one piece at a time. She'd play with it, then eat it. It was worse with the TOTW. Now, sometimes I 'll put a couple green beans (cut up ) on there and she thinks it's a banquet and eat it all at once. She likes plain cheerios and loves Apples - which I peel. I plan to find her a higher quality food once we get all her issues straightened out. But right now, the Purina is working and she has no issues while on it. So . . . whatever works for you and whatever you can get your puppy to eat! |
