| 6.4, is she really done?? So Coral went to the vet ths weekend for a checkup and she weighed a whopping 6.4 lbs. She is 13 1/2 months now, is she done growing? She was not the runt and now her brother and sister are pretty much twice her size. Do yorkies "fill out" in the 2nd year as some other breeds do or is she done growing??? Thanks!

| Some still fill out up to age 2, others are done much earlier. Every yorkie is different. I hate to break it to ya, but your girl isn't "whopping" LOL! She's within the breed standard of 7 lbs or less.

| Thanks for responding. I know she is not "whopping", i was being sarcastic. I think that she is tiny, as i have never really been around small dogs...

| All Yorkies are different. I would say she's done with weight but will probably fill out as she matures more. That's great she's within standard, sounds like she could have been bigger. Amazing how much a litter can be so different in size. |

| I agree that they are all a little different. My boy continued to fill out through his second year. I hope that my little girl does too, she is pretty solid right now but I would love for her to get a bit bigger. She is 15 months. I have heard of some never gaining after 7 months and some with late growth spurts. It is basically wait and see with yorkies

| Hendrix is 2.5 pounds and I swear to you he didnt gain an ounce after 6 months old.... he just stopped growing haha. He is super healthy, but he just stopped growing. Lucy is 7 months now and she just went to the vet and weighed 4.6 pounds and the vet said she might fill out a little and gain a couple of ounces, but she isn't actually going to get any bigger. Every dog is different, but in my case they can definitely stop growing younger. PS 6.4 pounds is PERFECT!!! I wish mine were bigger, they are so tiny that I get scared they are going to break hehe.
