How To Keep From... ok i read some other threads on this, but didnt pay attention because at the time i wasn't having this problem.. Maisy began tearing up her wee wee pads. We have a pink wee wee pad holder from petco and the pads are layered sortof so she just starts scratching and then after its teared she starts biting and shreading it up. She only does this when i leave her, never while i was there. These pads aren't new.. we've had them for about 1-2 months and it just started happening this past week. I thought about taping it to the inside of the holder but i think maisy could still scratch at it until it becomes loose. Does anyone else have this problem..what did you do???

My pups tear them up too! It is soooooo frustrating!!! I had to stop putting the pad in the crate and can only put it on the floor. I have to clean the crate frequently, but to me it is better than worrying about them swallowing any part of the pee pad. I am sorry that I have absolutely no advice for you. Spraying with any "taste" deterant wouldn't help because, like you said, they will dig it apart with their feet.

| It has to be something about the tissues or paper towels. Princess did that too. Maybe try a different pad.

This is why I haven't tried the pads. What's the point? They would be shreds in 10 minutes.

please be careful with the puppy pads, pups have been known to tear them up (eat some of them) and then get the absorbant material stuck in their intestine.......... pretty bad news they would probably need surgery, or if it isnt spotted in time they could die...........

I tried the pads a couple of times, and they always tore them up. So, then I tried newspapers and they almost did that to the papers, but I told them "no" firmly each time they did, and that soon stopped. I love the papers.....they're free and when it's raining or whatever outside, they can use them.
