| Discovered the snow WAS our best friend when having puppies <<< We got our two new puppies on Christmas Eve day. Basically everyday since they came home has been very cold and snowy out. Here in N.E. Ohio we have had around 12" of snow total. I have snow blowed a large path on my property for our puppies to do their business. With all the snow and the cold, our two little stinkers have learned to get outside and do their business quickly and within a confined area. Unfortunately, the temps has been rising the last few days and the snow has completely melted where I have snow blowed revealing the grass (and dirt) underneath all that snow. The snow has also melted around the house. Now these two puppies has discovered grass and dirt and now are not confined to the predetermined area. As such it's become very hard to corral these two 12 weeks olds. They are like kids in a candy store and have to lick, eat, taste and smell every blade of grass and every inch of exposed dirt. It's funny to see them enjoy their new found discoveries. However it has also become a hassle when it comes time to go outside and go potty. There want to run around everywhere and thus potty time take 5 times as long. That and we have to chase them around to get them back into the house! I can't wait until their baby brains start to understand our commands(and actually listen). Night time is the worst as when they go into the dark areas you can't see them at all so we are now forced to carry a flashlight when we go out. It's a good thing we live in the country. We have 7 acres with no neighbors that we can see and we live a couple hundred yards away from the county road. This is sure going to be interesting for the next few months!!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Sounds like fun. What I did was put ex-pens together right outside my sliding glass door and I can let them out in to a small area and I am always right there.
