I swear I don't know what i would do without this board and the great information I get from you guys.

We all learned from this so thanks for sharing and don't keep beating yourself up over it! I forget how little London is to sometimes. Mostly because she has a Jack Russel terrier mix sister and a big brother that is a 120lb black lab and she thinks she is just as big as they are!

They all got stockings for Christmas from PetSmart and they all got sick from the treats that were in them. So we learned that we'll never buy those again.

Glad she's okay! If she doesn't have grain allergies, consider may Cherrios as a training reward, or something similar.

Just seeing this now! Glad to hear she is doing ok now. Yes that was a lot of cheese. You have to remember their tummies are like the size of a golf ball. What i do if I give Uni cheese for training is string cheese, but not even full pull. tiny bits the size of a pencil eraser.

I'm glad she is OK too.
Good to know about the cheese though since mine seem to think it is their God-given right to have some whenever they hear the packaging crackle. LOL

and I'm glad she's ok....Best to keep an eye on her as she digests the cheese. She may have bathroom 'issues' for a few days

I have a neighbor that has a need to give my girls a cheese treat almost every time we stop in - he tends to want to feed them more than one piece and doesn't understand they can't eat alot of it -

A few weeks ago he kept trying to give them more and I snatched it out of his hands and ate it myself - then thanked him for the treat - it WAS good swiss cheese ....& he got the message

If it was up to her she would have ate more!!! :/ she learned sit, down, up, and almost had rollover down. Cheese was the only thing that got her interested in learning tricks. And did she not beg for more this morning when I was making breakfast!!

The only thing that worked for Adie when she was in class was raw hamburger! She learned the tricks then refused to do them when we got to class. She cracked the instructor up because she saw the little stinker perform when she was away from the crowd.

Did you find that Missy prefers rolling to one side over the other?

Yeah, it's hilarious the way they know when I'm into the snacks, even though I try to be quiet as a mouse!

Reesie seems ok with cheese, except for Swiss. She had trouble last week after someone gave her Swiss and finally had a rear end explosion (outside) on Saturday. Her symptoms were the same as yours.

Lou- She does perfer to rollover on one side more than the other. She's still working on it.

I'm using praise now for teaching tricks, and she;s not very interested.
And yup, she's still begging for the cheese

I hope Reesie is feeling better!!

I thought honey was not good to use ? I posted about using it on here and got jumped on that it was not a good choice it was better to give sugar water then ever use honey.

Karo or Corn syrup are both better choices... I noticed that too!

Try boiling some chicken breast at home, chopping into small "pea size" pieces, you can keep it in a zip lock in your fridge and use it for the training, clean, fat free tasty treat ! And healthy !
