I never thought Cesar Millan would adopt a Yorkie. Well, I am glad he adopted a Yorkie. I know that this lucky dog will have a great home. :) |

And Tina (NuNu's owner) doesn't work for him anymore. She started her own business walking dogs. :) |

I get SO ANGRY at this type of stereotypical response. That is the basic type of thing that I heard when I was looking for my Yorkie. "Oh No WAY!! You have Greyhounds!! They kill everything small and fuzzy!!" Ahh, ya, whatever!! People need to do their research before sticking their foot in their mouth. |

Let me say this for some of you all real slow... **sorry not all** just a figure of speech D*O*G*S* LIKE PEOPLE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT PERSONALITIES!! Some are mean, all breeds, just like races, have a lot of problems, just some are worse than others...***OH MY** I just saw a white person with a bald head..I know he is with the skin heads..** Please...just makes me ashamed to think that someone that is into their dogs and care enough about their dogs to belong to a forum, about their dog, would be so closed minded. I have Greyhounds. My three littles are in a crate when I leave. NOT because I worry about the greyhounds getting them, I worry about the owls and coyotes. Believe me, the littles keep the Greys in line. About Cesar: He is a basic good trainer. But his method of training is more for the bully breeds. I would be hard pressed to out a Grey in a submissive back roll. The grey would be emotionally scared for life. They are just to gentle for that. Remember that you have to take into consideration that not all of anyones methods are for every situation. You have to use some uhhnghum,**throat clear** common sense. |

I do not believe there is only one right way to do something. I use his corrections on my dogs and it works. |

I really think that we have to be cautious of ALL unfamiliar dogs around our pets. You can't just say "only big dogs", or "only pitbulls". I went to pet a 3 lb yorkie at my son's school the other day. That dog bit me 10 times in about 3 seconds flat. Yes, he did break the skin. If you don't know a dog and it's temperament, be careful! I've known one pitbull personally in my life. If any pit should have been unruly, it would have been that one. It's owners were very irresponsible and didn't take very good care of him (or themselves), BUT that dog was the sweetest little lovey dove ever. He LOVED people, especially children, and lived with me for a few months. At that time I owned a bird, a lizard, a hedgehog, a cat, and 2 dogs. He was great! |

I think that you are being very judgmental. Sounds like a form of segregation. I have to watch my Jack Russell so she does not hurt the Greys. JR's are also known as being so hyper. I have nothing but great things to say about this breed, when there was so much negativity on them not so many years ago. Her only problem is she is TOO SMART!! Many years ago: about 25, Cocker Spaniels were known for being the the worst dog bitters. They at the time put it off to the ratio of Cockers that were owned as pets. Wonder what the ratio of pittys as pets is compared with the bite ratio? I am not in any way saying that ALL pittys are bad. Sure just like any breed there are bad and GOOD! If you took about half of the Yorkies and left them outside, all the time, unsocialized, they might end up in as bad of mental shape as the pittys! But because of the PRICE of a good Yorkie, most will take better care of them than that. Yorkies are not a dime a dozen at the pound like the pitty... If you are "scared" when you meet one: THEY WILL SENSE IT! All I ask as a DOG LOVER, is that you refrain from making blanket statements. How many pittys have you come in contact with that you can say that you would never have that dangerous dog? How many pittys have bitten you/yours? That was the problem that I had with the greyhounds. NO!!!! My Greys do not eat anything little and fuzzy...They all get along well. The littles love them and they love the littles. Am I the alpha? No, but I am in charge. I have 11 dogs around here at any given time. I have to be in charge. Check in the actual biting force of a German Shepherd. Last I read, their jaw force was more than the pitty. I will look and see if I can find that research. |
I found one: Does Your Dog Bite? I am sure that if we looked we could find some on any dog that we want to "ban". |

I know what everyone is meaning cause when I told my own father that finally I was going to get a Yorkie after all these years of trying the first and only thing he said was "Mystic will eat it"!!??? Can you believe that, I was really hurt! Mystic is our GSD and she is a sweetheart, albeit a big one but still and this was his advice?? I had taken all the precautions and properly introduced them over weeks till it was time for him to come home and when we sleep or are away we do put him in his big crate in our bedroom just so Mystic don't roll over on him or whatever but they do soooo well together. I am sure if anyone can allow big dogs and little dogs to live together in harmony it would be Caesar!! |

ANY large dog could kill your little baby with one bite. ANY! You could also die in a car accident or get struck by lightning tomorrow. Sure you could stay indoors all day and have all the irrational fears you want. Perhaps you could even draw a little mustache on your top lip and have all the pitbulls of the world euthanized by perpetuating their “killer” reputation. It doesn’t effect you any, so why would you care? I used to assist in a pitbull foster home. These dogs were not taken out of good homes with good owners. These dogs came in so terrified of people due to severe abuse that they would rather starve than step foot by a human with food. I never for a second hated these dogs; I can assure you that I have nothing but contempt for their previous owners. It infuriates me that you could hate the breed just as racists and bigots infuriate me. Have you ever stopped to think that by perpetuating the reputation as killers you are encouraging the “bad owners” who would want such a dog to seek one out. Do you think Mr. Thug down the street wants a soft cuddly couch potato? No, he wants a bad ass killer. But it doesn’t effect you at all…. For people that are so up in arms about Puppy Mills you have no problem looking the other way when the dog isn’t so “cute”. And as for Caesar, some like him and some don’t. I do not have cable so I have only seen a couple of shows online. I have not seen any of this Victoria lady’s show. Either way these two people are bringing together pets with owners that are on the edge of giving up. I can’t condemn either for that. A member was simply sharing something she thought was positive such as the rescue of Miss Georgia Peach. I have never seen such belittling and condescending behavior towards another member on this site as I have read in this tread. This may have been one of those occasions where “if you don’t have anything nice to say….” |

I like Cesar and watch his show often. I saw the yorkie on the show " How to raise the perfect puppy". I don't think Cesar would ever put a dog in danger. I respect the relationship between Cesar and Daddy. It's going to be a very sad day when he passes away. |

My aunt's pit is 8 years old but was socialized highly as a puppy and adult. She always made sure to put her hand in his bowl as a pup, getting him used to it, he's wonderful with children and all people, he's great with dogs. A socialized Pit makes all the difference in the world. When you own such a powerful breed, you've always gotta be on top of them. You truly have to be their LEADER and can't ever let them take control. That's why I'd never own such a powerful breed, I don't think I'm strong enough mentally. You've gotta build trust and respect. |
