| I lost a cleft palete puppy too. He was just short of 4 weeks when he could start solid food. He was named Harley. I had just feed him and put him back with his litter mates. They started to puppy pile and he ended up on the bottom. I heard a loud squeak. Cozy Mama and I made a beeline for the basket but it was too late. He had aspirated the food. I could not get it cleared from his mouth, nose, and throat with a bulb syringe. He passed in my hands with Cozy and Roxy licking him while I tried CPR. I cry for him often. I do wonder if Buddy is somehow Harley reincarnated. Harley loved life and was always full of himself just like big sister Roxy. He loved being cuddled as does Buddy. Buddy would snuggle all day and just loves life. He actually smells the flowers everyday and watches the sunset.
