| Thumper is in Maryland We drove halfway to Maryland and met Thumper's new mom. I appreciate all the people that offered to help get Thumper to his new home but I really wanted to be the one to take him. I already feel like I let him down by not keeping him and I didn't want him to feel completely abandoned by us. Please say a little prayer for this little guy. Pray that his adjustment will be speedy and easy on him. The lady that adopted him seemed so nice and very knowledgable about reteaching behaviors. I am just so afraid that he feels sad and scared tonight. Tori, my five year old is very upset also. He had really bonded with her and she with him. She misses that little guy something awful, which just makes me all the sadder. If you are new to Thumper's story and wonder why we did not keep him, he had a great fear of strangers and we have 4 kids and kids constantly streaming in and out of our house. He was constantly upset by all the visitors. I think the idea of helping transport rescue animals to their new homes is a great one and I will volunteer to drive an animal any time I am needed. Thanks to all who have kept Thumper in your thoughts. I will keep you updated as to his progress.

| Isn't it so sad that so many dogs are given up by their owners? I don't mean you, you did a wonderful job and saved poor Thumper from possibly being taken into the wrong family. You probably saved his life. I wish people would think things through before getting any dog. Can you imagine being taken away from everything you've ever known and loved and going to strangers? I know there are something that the owners can't control and when that does happen they do everthing in their power to make sure their baby is well taken care of and will go to a loving home, but to put your baby up for sale at a yard sale?? That is just so sad to me. Thank you for being a wonderful and caring person and making sure that Thumper will now get the love and care he deserves. |

| I had the same experience with a Greyhound. He was a blood donor for 2 years at the emergency vet my daughter works for and he needed a home, so we brought him home and he was terrified! We also have a busy household and this poor dog didn't know how to act. It was hard but we had to give him back and he was adopted by a lady at the vets who has a less hectic household. Sometimes what's best for the dog isn't what's best for our hearts! You did great! From beginning to end you looked out for the lil guy! |
