They make such a stink about making sure pets are spayed but it is soooo expensive here!

Again, financial squabbles can ruin a marriage.

I hope your pup gets better, and I'm sorry that you don't have much money of your own to contribute to the expenses of helping your furbaby get better.

Good luck, and you guys should really talk about this- or see a counsellor.

^^ Exactly. Plus, I think if she feels the need to come onto an internet forum to vent about her husband...I don't really know how to word this. All I know is no matter how pissed off I was with my man, someone else calling him the things I was? Not cool. Especially strangers.
Kinda like the old...He's my brother, that's only okay when I say it! ;)

As Derby said...Dog is not the answer. Band-aid over a bullet wound is not the best idea.

Yes, after reading this it sounds like you guys seriously have some things besides a puppy to work out. I am so sorry to hear that your dog is sick. Poor thing. We will say a prayer for his quick recovery.
But I would take this as a lesson that if he is not willing to spend the money to help out a sick dog that is already a member of your family, then I really do not think it is right to bring in another puppy.

My husband hates animals, but I LOVE THEM. He said "no way" to any pets. I now have two cats and a yorkie and he loves them all. If he is a good hubby, he will let you have what your heart wants so badly. My hubby admits he likes seeing me so happy with my animals.

Thank you, I will keep everyone posted as to how he is doing, DH feels bad about Pete he put it up to me to take him to the vet, and this will probably bite me in the butt he likes to play the blame game how its all my fault for making a decision, anyway... I will keep everyone updated on how my Pete is doing.

I very much agree. Michael knew I was getting Sydney for me, but Syd has taken to Daddy very quickly. She follows him everywhere and he talks to her constantly.

With that being said, though, I am so very sorry to hear about poor Pete. Please know that I am thinking of you and I pray that Pete will get the care he needs. He has your love and that can be the best medicine during these times.

no it doesnt make him a bad husband at all, what I think they are saying is that he needs to try to make me happy as I do him... and I do respect the fact that he doesnt want another dog, I am 100% sure that if I could get a yorkie for free I would be able to get it. this is why I say now that I have the money why can't I ? besides w/ my Pete being sick I am not going to be getting the puppy anytime soon anymore.

See if you can get him to go and at least just see the dog. My husband was instantly sold as soon he held Roxie and she licked him and fell asleep in his hand. 2 days later she was home with us!! She's still spoiled spoiled. My sis in law just brought them home to meet hubby on a trial basis as far as he knew, he always fell in love. They have 3 now haha!

No Dont give up !! It took me two years to get my first and another year to get my second, begging the whole time !!!!!!!! And he loves them both !!

Update on Pete
 
I brought him home from the vet, and he was not as lethargic as he was when I took him. I don't think he is doing too well. I had to feed him some electrolite liquid for dogs mixed w/ chicken baby food and he threw it all up, they also told me to give him some pepcid AC to stop the vomiting but that didn't seem to help too much. He is in the bath room covered b/c he was very cold. My poor baby. I will let you all know more tomorrow good night.
