That's it! I've GOT to learn to groom myself! 2 Attachment(s) I have had issues before with different groomers not listening, but after today, I am over it!! I specifically said 3 times, DO NOT touch the hair on Lexi's face! I just wanted a sanitary cut and I wanted them to shave their bellies after seeing a thread on here and since I have so much trouble with matting there. Well, they shaved her nose and neither of them even had bellies shaved!! I know people make mistakes, but we talked about it and he even repeated what I wanted!! Agh!!! I am just so afraid to do it myself and that I will mess them up, but I am tired of paying for the PROFESSIONALS to mess it up!!! She is still my pretty little princess, but why did they have to shave the nose!!!!! And soooo short! :( |
Doesn't this make you mad? I cannot find anyone I am completely happy with either,..well until this week actually, I found a guy you really did listen and they look gorgeous. Your baby does look simply adorable if thats any consolation! |
I think she looks beautiful. I screw mine up all the time but atleast I don't have to pay for it..lol |
OMG What a beauty Lexi is and her Christmas dress is gorgeous! I would be angry if I were not listened to, too and this frightens me enough that we are gonna try to do it ourselves (my husband has some experience) or I will be there and watch at a groomers. I think maybe I could practice on a stuffed bear?? lol - only partly kidding! She is so beautiful and I dont think she knows they didn't do what mommy asked ;) |
She looks like she's mad at the groomer too...but absolutely ADORABLE at the same time!!! |
It always makes me mad when groomers cut too much! I realize hair will grow back, but still we are all paying for this service at least do as we say. Lexi is still a cutie!:) |
I have to say...Lexi is a heartbreaker!! Soooo beautiful!! I hate it when groomers ask you how you want it, and then go ahead anyway and do it the way they want to do it!! I think they just do what's easiest for them!! |
Lexie is a beauty!!! She would look good totally shaved ;) |

My hair is in the growing stage, and he should know this! LOL! Men..!! #I(%&#(%& |
Thanks guys. I know I am def. not the only person that has had a bad experience, it just seems like no matter where I go, they don't listen!! Oh well, I guess I am gonna have to hit up the grooming forum and figure out how to do it myself! I'm scared!! LOL |

Oh wow! I am sorry! Geez it's just amazing how hard it is to find a good groomer, and everywhere apparently!! |
I'm sorry! She looks absolutely adorable though. I found a good groomer I like for Jackson but she charges $50 and I always give a $10 tip. I looked for someone cheaper in the summer to get him shaved... and they shaved him wayyy too short and they did the nose shave thing, too. It wouldn't have been so bad, but his nose was shaved like your little ones and I hated it! I don't know why they do that -- I guess it's the "easy" way to get rid of the eye boogers/hair there, but ughh! For cost reasons, I want to learn to do it myself but it never looks as good. :( |
thear is a woman in my area who works for the pound and humane society and she dose a great job sometimes she gets a little short but she always listens and so dose the one for moms area maybe you should call and ask who dose the grooming for the pound and humane society in your area they dont get paid alot to do that so they are normally really careful with the people who pay them |

Do they go to hair dressing school, and then specialize in dog grooming for their hours and hours before their actually licensed? or what... You can go and get bad/cheap hair cuts for humans and pay $10-$20 so why pay $50 for some idiot to cut your dog's hair? I want to know the standards. |
I'm sorry they messed up on what you asked, but Lexi is still a gorgeous girl!! And I LOVE the Christmas Snowflake dress and bow on her!! Where ever did you get it?:p I really am glad it fits though! She looks very pretty in it. |
She is absolutely precious, but I for the life of me can not understand why a groomer would shave just the top of her nose? If you were shaving everything else, then maybe. This is why I refuse to take Missy or Dora to a groomer. Missy's coat has just been growing and growing, I continue to trim her feet and the tips of the ears. Once it hits the floor I'll just keep trimming the tips, and if it ever becomes a matted, knotty, mess...then I'll just put her in a puppy cut. I will do it all myself though, without grooming experience. I figure she's safer, happier, and it probably looks better than what the groomers would do anyways by the sounds of it  |
Kristie Lexi still look so beautiful, but I know exactly what you mean. I took my two 4 weeks ago and my groomer did the same thing. We even discussed it before I left. She knew I had been growing her facial hair out. It had been growing for 12 weeks and was almost grown out on her nose and between her eyes. I was furious. I bought clippers and I did Bogie and Jada's belly last week just to get used to the clippers. I ordered a DVD on grooming Yorkies. I decided if I goof up at least I am not paying for someone else to do it. I am going to wait until after the holidays to do a complete groom on them. I don't want to mess them up before Christmas.LOL |

So sorry that the groomer did this, I don't know why they shave the nose either, but the groomer I worked for did this also unless asked not to. She does listen to her clients. The grooming is not that hard to do yourself. Go slow and work until you feel comfortable. Buy the wahl tid bit clippers, they work great for the ears, sanitary, and pads of the feet. I also have andis clippers with a few different blades. petedge.com is a good place to buy clippers, shears, and other grooming supplies. Good luck!!!!! Your baby is so pretty even with the nose shaved. Her dress is fabulous!!!! |

Thanks so much for the clipper recommendations, I'm gonna go look at them right now! Hopefully my babies don't hate me if I mess them up! |
I'm going to get Jackson groomed professionally one more time so he can look handsome for Christmas but after that, I think I might invest in some good clippers and give it a shot! God help me. lol |

Maybe if we tell them our husband won't allow us to pay if they screw it up I bet they would listen then lol ....but she looks adorable in my favorite color, but I can't lie I would have totally went off I mean after all its our dog not theirs we want them to look like we want them not how they want |
I recently bought Wahl clippers. The one that you can charge up and use cordless. It's been a lifesaver (and a great investment), and it's very very easy to use. I recommend them, and also the grooming videos in the grooming section here on YT helps a lot. If you buy the pet clipper kit it also comes with a helpful DVD. As for the nose being shaved, I have never seen that before till now. So sad to hear, but at least their lovely hair grows back in no time. |
I know that you want what you paid for but your little girl is beautiful! |
I always groom my dogs . I use to take my dogs to petsmart . They did a ok job . I never leave my dogs at the grooms (3 hour) by themself . So l learn how to do it myself by looking at them . It's not hard I know you can do it. |
