I'm sorry you had this experience but Lexi looks absolutely adorable! I've been grooming mine for awhile now. I learn each time I do it. The way I figure it, "it will grow back!" lol |
Your little princess is gorgeous. Don't be afraid, get yourself a nice clipper and go for it. At least you will listen to yourself. I groom all mine myself and yes, I did make a couple of mistakes in the beginning but they still love me. :D |
She's ADORABLE...love,love love the outfit! I have similair issues with the hairdresser who does my hair (not the belly part though:p |

She is adorable, but I also don't understand why they would shave her nose! That is such a hard part to grow back and I'm always so happy when my puppies grow their coats long enough that the hair around their eyes and nose isn't sticking up everywhere! I have a wonderful groomer who comes to my house to help me out and she only does exactly what I want and has since Kalina was a baby! As for the matts, I have found a wonderful product and for the first time in my Yorkie life we are pretty much matt-free. It's the olive oil spray that you can find in the ethnic hair section. You can spray it on wet or dry and it really works - it's like a miracle. My breeder told me about it and she heard about it from a well-known breeder. I love this stuff. It does make them look a little greasy, but it works!! It's really wonderful right now on 18 week old adolescent puppies! :) |
ok I can't get past gorgeous to complain |

I know you must be furious but take a look at that picture of her? She is GORGEOUS, a doll! Where did you get that dress? She looks beautiful honestly,The only thing that gets me angry is when that shaved area in the nose starts growing and it wont stay down. Gen |
never been to groomers 3 Attachment(s) OK so I'm a little over protective. But Woody is so small and I'm afraid something could happen to him at a groomer. they are not liscenced and who know what they are doing to dogs!!! When he was a little baby I waited until he took a puppy nap, then started with the grooming. He would sleep thru everything. But now that he is grown up it's not as simple. Even though I'm a huge fan of the traditional long hair yorkie cuts, I like to cut his hair really short every couple months and change it up. I like to give him unique cuts that WOW people. He acts different when his hair is short, he thinks he's BAD. lol here are a couple pics, from when he was a puppy to some different cuts he has had. I wash him and blow dry him, and do his ears and nails, and clean his face (daily) The current cut is mustache & eyebrows, like an old man. |

the bell bottom cut thanks! a couple months ago i saw this girl yorkie with bell bottoms!!! the third pic is the current cut. he's a nughty lil"boy with this hair cut! |
She is a total doll! what a cutie! But I know what you mean!!! I started grooming my own a couple years ago but I see yorkies all the time that are taken to the groomers and ALL of them have shaved noses:confused: WHY do groomers feel the need to do that? I personally don't care for that. I grow all of mine out...but thye are tend to do it for some reason. And to not listen to you...thats just not acceptable. But boy, she is cute as a button!!!! :) Quote:

On a lighter note...the title of this thread makes me smile because it can be taken two ways. Think about it. Your baby is adorable in spite of the groomer. |

LOL!!! I thought of that after I posted it but was hoping nobody would notice!! |

Sorry you had a bad experience, but your lil one is adorable....love the lil dress.. I have taken Shay 3 times and each time was HORRID! and 3 different groomers???? I will do my self, when I get the nerve, and that hopefully will be soon, cause he needs it.... I am most concerned about doing his face.......it maybe a 3 month haircut, meaning alil each day..lol..wish me luck! |

As fo the fee. Think about it. People don't have knots in there hair, people sit still and we are doing the whole body of a dog. So with that said, it's a harder job to groom a dog than a person. I also teach a dog how to be groomed and to trust me, so they are not scared. I teach my customers how to brush, comb, brush their teeth, which shampoos and conditioners to use on their dogs inbetween grooming too. I help them with there grooming issues at home. So they look good till the next grooming appointment. :D |

Anyway, Lexi is a doll. When I saw the shaved nose, I'm not gonna lie, I gasped. But her beautiful face makes up for it. I groom Uni myself, and before I kept her in a puppy cut. After I would cut her my bf would get all mad. All that time he wanted her hair long and didn't say anything to me! Now we are growing her out, so all I do is the booty and ears. :) |
Wow she is just gorgeous. Who is your groomer? I wanna make an appointment. I do understand though. I go through this EVERY SINGLE time I have my kids groomed. I say I want it like this and this and this. It NEVER looks like I want. But I wouldn't dare do it myself and mess them up! |
same thing i went to petsmart he had nice long hair i came back and they saved him completely i was so mad the lady said it was because he was matted i talked to a manager got a free cut i was so mad i told them how could i comb him then if he was so matted? i told the lady that i think she messed up and so she shaved him. i know how you feel i have been cutting my yogis hair myself and i sometimes wish i could find someone to trust. Its also some people might not treat your fur baby right i have seen them push them around like nothing. its so horrible |
I think Lexi looks gorgeous! I really like her outfit!! Where did you get it? I can't wait for my girl's hair to grow out! Lexi's coat look healthy and stunning! As with the groomer issue, I never took mine to groomers. I cut it myself...it saves money and the worry of them mistreating my baby in the process as well as messing up. However, mine are just babies so when they grow up, I will probably have to bring them to professionals...=__= |
