At leasst we should be glad that we can do a good job of what ever on our mind on our cutie's hair ourselves. I have this same problem with my own hair. but too bad I cant do it myself...

I have taken Shay 3 times and each time was HORRID! and 3 different groomers???? I will do my self, when I get the nerve, and that hopefully will be soon, cause he needs it....
I am most concerned about doing his face.......it maybe a 3 month haircut, meaning alil each day..lol..wish me luck!

I have my own dog grooming business. I have been grooming for over 30 years. To be a dog groomer you go to dog grooming school. They teach you how to groom different styles on all breeds. First they show you how to groom a dog. Then you practice on dogs that people bring to class for a small fee. As you are learning on their dogs. You learn how to scissor, how to use the blades, cut their nails, brush them, bath them and handle them gently. It is like hair dressing school for people. There are good groomers and bad groomers, so I know what you are talking about. I groom old school, which means I do a lot of scissoring and it takes more time, but the end result is better. I feel bad for everyone who is unhappy with there dogs haircut. If I was not a groomer I would stay and wait for my dog to be groomed, so you know you are getting the right hair cut. Or maybe give them a picture of the style hair cut you want.
As fo the fee. Think about it. People don't have knots in there hair, people sit still and we are doing the whole body of a dog. So with that said, it's a harder job to groom a dog than a person. I also teach a dog how to be groomed and to trust me, so they are not scared. I teach my customers how to brush, comb, brush their teeth, which shampoos and conditioners to use on their dogs inbetween grooming too. I help them with there grooming issues at home. So they look good till the next grooming appointment.

Actually that was what I thought when I first read the title!

Anyway, Lexi is a doll. When I saw the shaved nose, I'm not gonna lie, I gasped. But her beautiful face makes up for it.

I groom Uni myself, and before I kept her in a puppy cut. After I would cut her my bf would get all mad. All that time he wanted her hair long and didn't say anything to me! Now we are growing her out, so all I do is the booty and ears.

I do understand though. I go through this EVERY SINGLE time I have my kids groomed. I say I want it like this and this and this. It NEVER looks like I want.

But I wouldn't dare do it myself and mess them up!

same thing i went to petsmart he had nice long hair i came back and they saved him completely i was so mad the lady said it was because he was matted i talked to a manager got a free cut i was so mad i told them how could i comb him then if he was so matted? i told the lady that i think she messed up and so she shaved him. i know how you feel i have been cutting my yogis hair myself and i sometimes wish i could find someone to trust. Its also some people might not treat your fur baby right i have seen them push them around like nothing. its so horrible

As with the groomer issue, I never took mine to groomers. I cut it myself...it saves money and the worry of them mistreating my baby in the process as well as messing up. However, mine are just babies so when they grow up, I will probably have to bring them to professionals...=__=
