| ![]() He is 3 years old and has always done this. He chews up all his toys even started eating a nylabone. (yes, I do feed him quality food & he gets lots of exercise and attention!) Yesterday he was eating the soft end off a bobby pin he found, today it was a piece of wire he was chewing on. Most all dogs toys i must take away from him as soon as stops playing and starts eating them. Bully sticks I give him once a week, they are devoured in an hour or less. Tell me he is not the only yorkie that does this.

| ![]() My mom has schnauzer like this. She will chew up a squeaky toy in one day. She will chew anything. She's 5 years old, and just cannot have toys. It's for her own safety but she will tear them apart then eat the pieces. It doesn't matter if it's rubber, cotton, etc. If it's a toy it's destroyed. Sorry I don't have any advice this just sounds like my moms dogs behavior..idk how you stop it but would love to hear.

| ![]() Wow! I have his complete opposite. He must have the whitest teeth in the world! Did you know there are really tough toys you can buy for very aggressive chewers? I know I've seen them online before. I thought I'd mention it in case you might be interested.

| ![]() I also have what I refer to as a "destro dog", she is a 2 years old Morkie. She can't have any stuffed toys as she shreds them and eats the pieces. Makes for colorful interesting poop. Last one was a dogs purple fuzzy ear ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() You beat me to the post - Darwin is almost two years old and chews EVERYTHING except for wires (thankfully). I have bought him the black kongs and he isn't interested in them - he chews a nylabone but prefers to chew bags, barrettes, anything plastic and completely chews most toys within seconds and starts to eat them - they are removed immediately and we're not buy them again. We also feed a really good quality food and he gets dentabones. He loves to stand up to the coffee table and drag anything he can get hold of to chew - Mabel isn't like this and she IS a puppy - will it ever stop????? |

| ![]() I don't have a problem w/Apple chewing up toys, but every single solitary thing she can put in her mouth, she does, inside and outdoors...Honestly, I have to be on the look out for anything falling on the floor...Buzz will, sometimes, choose a toy to destroy, but it's not a real problem...Since Apple is 2 years and 3 months, I'm thinking it's, probably, not going to change ![]() |

| ![]() Thank you for all your suggestions! It is comforting to know that others have dogs with similar habits. Kongs are mostly good though he did chew the end off one that looked like a bone that was advertised as indestructible. And yes I also must be so careful about what is dropped on the floor and he is never unsupervised outside! He does not eat the ball he has, yeh! not that he hasn't tried! I will look on some of the other sites you have suggested for other toys I may not have tried. Thank youhttp://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

| ![]() No you are most surely not alone. My little ones eat their beds. A day after we get them the stuffing is pulled out of them and all over the house. They also tear up pee pads and some stuffed toys. My bassets are another story. They ate the wire from a heater while it was plugged in, the wire from my friend's jukebox while it was plugged in, the cable tv wire, the air conditioner wire and a whole shed full of insulation. Honesly they have more lives than Garfield. |

| ![]() Mine has never destroyed a single toy...but he loves being in the yard eating rocks, leaves, twigs, poop, whatever he can find! My other dog, a Basset Hound, used to completely destroy any stuffed toy you would give him. |

| ![]() My dog is always hungry. She is fed the right amount of food and has seen the vet about this. She just loves to eat. Her life revolves around food. So far, she hasn't been eating anything other than food. She did chew on everything when she was a puppy though. Probably the teething thing then. She seems like a mini Roomba. I have to make sure there isn't anything on the floor. It's difficult at times because my 94 yr. old mother lives with us. I am always worried she will drop something that will make Calleigh sick. I'm especially careful with any meds she takes. She has to sit down at the table to take them. So far so good, but it's always a real concern. I hope you'll find something for your pup to just chew on and not devour. ![]()

| ![]() Well, I guess I am now finding out Jonah's chewing could be worse. He has the same bed that he had when he was a puppy! Electrical cords of are of no interest, but watch out if you drop a paper clip, a hair bow, and well there is the dirty thong underwear of my daughters but I think that is a tasty treat for most of our furry friends!
