YT Addict | Nervous about being a new mom..am I doing the right thing? I am so nervous and I hope I'm doing the right thing. I've been thinking about getting a 2nd Yorkie to give Harley a playmate. I found a really cute female on petfinder.com and filled out an application to rescue her. I've had Harley a year now and I'm a little nervous how he will react if I get her. I've already heard from the organization but they have received several applications on her. They are reviewing them now to see who she will fit best with. I'm keeping my fingers crossed but if I don't get her I'll know it just wasn't meant to be. |

| Multiple Yorkies...lot's of fun! Now the truth...yes, it's lots of fun but, along with that fun comes twice the duties involved with just one. But, not to worry...after awhile it does become routine. Now that I actually foster for YTNR, I've actually surprised myself at how quick I can prepare meals for four and get them all bathed & groomed in a day! My two biggest suggestions are: 1. get Pet Insurance on your lil' ones (two pets can qualify for a discount) 2. start an emergency fund for "two" of a minimum $1000 in each And the reason I put these at the top of my list is because I can't tell you how many dogs come into a rescue for that very reason...the owner couldn't afford the Vet bills & ended up surrendering instead Best of luck on your quest for a new sibling for Harley

| It's normal to be nervous. I didn't know how mine was going to react when I brought the others home. I say others, because now I have 4. They all get along great have a great time together. The main thing that I can recommend is that you talk to Harley and let him know exactly what's going on. Explain that you are not replacing him, but actually getting him a friend. Believe it or not, they do understand the human language.

YT Addict | I looked at petfinder this morning and the little one that I submitted an application on now has a status of pending. I'm assuming I did not get her...I haven't heard anything. It's a little disappointing but I'll keep looking. |

| I think that getting a second Yorkie is a wonderful idea, but ideally the two dogs would be able to meet as a prerequisite to sealing the deal. Personality has a lot to do with how well they will get along....... Happy Holidays!
